Hey guys, just a big hello to everyone. I am a proud owner of a 2005 Corolla Sportivo.

As the title says im choosing to upgrade my audio system. The problem is i do not want to get another headunit, the MP3 stacker is good. However i am wanting to know whether the stock headunit would be able to handle either 4 or 5inch speakers in both front a rear doors? Does it produced enough power? Would the speakers not have the capacity to perform to the full extent?

(Btw. im not wanting 6x9 or similar, i dont wish to damage the parcel shelf, as for a sub maybe bit heavy, uneeded weight)

Thank for any help i appreciate it. Also looking foward to some Sydney Cruises!

Thanks for the reply. Its not really a choice, but the fact that it has a stacker is why i want to keep it. Its just convenient. A new good headunit with a stack would be $1000+ and then theres installation.

mate keep the same head unit get yourself a good amp and replace the speakers with 6" or 6 1/2" speakers itll sound sweet.

wont be quite as good as an aftermarket unit but as long as the new speakers run off the amp the headunit wont be straining to run the speakers to there capacity.

its a cheap easy way for great sound without replacing the main unit.

amp

6" or better yet 6 1/2" spilts in front

and 6" or 6 1/2" speakers in back. for rears either 2way 3way or 4way will be good for sound.

and if ya really keen subbies

ill sell ya mine if ya want lol looking to upgrade all my gear at the mo.
