So this car has been in the family ever since, one owner and one owner only. Originaly was my brothers first new ride, now it has been passed down to me.

Parts list (Updated as of may)

Installed = Klutch SL1 16x8 4x100 (3inch lip) +15

Installed = Rays Engineering - Lock Lug Nuts (Authentic)

BC V1 Series Coilovers ae101/ae111 Macpherson strut

AE112R Levin Instrument Cluster

AE112R Levin Entire rear Consisting on Hubs, Calipers, Rotors, Brake Line, Controller arms (SOO HEAVY).

AE112 Replacement grille ( Future project vip style grille )

AE112 TR-Bodykit Set (Gold colour needs to be repainted to white/what ever colour i repaint my car to)

Parts list to buy

AE112 Sportivo Front lip.

AE110 00" Ascent/Conquest Japanese Rear Light set ( Import Monster )

Camber bolts????

Wheel Fenders if there are any

To do list

Repaint scratches on the side of the car

Repaint+Fit TR bodykit

Complete Disc Brake Conversion kit

Install Coilovers and adjust height

As a newbie coming into the scene i feel like i've clearly set myself up for a long journey of learning and making stupid mistakes. Few months ago all i wanted was the bodykit now i've worked myself up to working hard on the car and getting that look i wanted.

Recently I got my wheels fitted, lets just say the guys at the shop were worried about me pulling over rather than the wheels hitting the guards/struts because they are dammm wide. I had to stretch 1 inch more than the recommended size for the tyres. So funny the guy fitting the nuts didnt realise the lock nut has 1 more side to it, quote " this is stupid this looks like a normal nut ".

For the guys that helped me figure out about my tyres and wheels thankyou. On the other hand I'm getting rub noises when i hit big humps in the road. I don't think its the actual guards because i haven't lowered anything yet, plus I use to get the same noise on the same humps but it was just the sound of the struts/springs. The sound comes from both rears but only on the left rear when i turn right, whats your thoughts? Is it the fenders or the struts?

Has anyone on here attempted to purchase the JDM lights? Is the wiring different and are the bulbs the same?

I will update with pictures on the parts I have in the next few posts.

Install the coilovers already! Haha

Definatly needs camber bolts. Get them for the rear though, because your front coilovers probably come with camber tops. So saves you the hassle of getting front bolts.

Not sure if there's any bolt on fenders, haven't seen any. Its best to camber the wheels man.

Have you rolled your rear guards? That could be one issue?

As you can see the rears have not been rolled.

i would advise against this. i have the Levin dash in mine and the orange is a bit of a drag. i'm going to eventually put white LEDs behind them so at least it's a bright orange but if i could pick any colour it would be white (which i'm confident is not possible with the Levin dash as those bits are actually tinted orange). if you are heaps into the idea of orange then i'd suggest putting white LEDs behind it now / before you fit it.

also: interesting that the aerial on the sedan is on the side whereas on the liftback it's at the front of the middle of the roof.

Update after rim installation

Rear guards were rolled by myself, not the best but MALZ was selling fender rollers for $99 and it was either pay $99 and roll the guards or wait a whole week in the garage till I get them rolled and coils installed.

Spent 3 hours rolling the guards ><. First time diy and the first guard i rolled was perfect, although i think i rushed the second guard hence it was not even =[. All in all i did stop the wheel rub.

How did you manage to tuck your front wheels in jaay? or the rears? when you had the 15x8 koyas.

Everyones been telling me i'm going to get pulled over by the cops for the poke of the tyres, so i'm thinking i need to roll the front when i get coils.

If i cant roll them enough then i might have to look at getting wheel fender flares.

Well I have about 1.5 neg degrees camber upfront and it tucked in a bit. As for the rears, there was no camber. If I did have camber it will tuck in like the fronts. I'd suggest, Install your coilovers and get camber bolts for the rears.

Also what tyre profile are you running?

And do you have camber tops for your front coilovers?

This is an old photo.

You need more than 1.5 neg degrees camber to tuck it in properly. As you can see that's only 1.5. Try and go for 2-3 degrees or more. But your tyres will wear out quickly.

just another question how much did you drop all around rear and front? At the moment i'm thinking of dropping roughly 40-30 and the front and 30-20 at the back (anymore and then i have to set my setting to super stiff) depending on how much space i have for the tyres. I'm gonna go for 2.0 degrees of camber all around depending on how much i need at the front to be inside the fenders.

I remember reading across one of your posts when you had the 15x8 koyas that you had 195/45/15 tyres.

I've got 205/45/16, the guys said it be hard to fit the 195's on so i went the little extra. Plus 205's were some what cheaper!

so it seems you got 10mm less than me on the width.

Yeah you may need 2-3 degree camber to tuck it in man. You should be alright!

Flares could work man, but not sure if they have any here. Maybe overseas or somewhere!

dammm man those wheels look mint, especially against the white, once you lower the car the rear should just tuck in , mine did no camber bolts needed but the front poke. if you would of got the 195/45 r16 tyre then you shouldn't have to much prolem with the rear. But get your coilovers in first then asses where you need to move the wheels camber wise or height. Can you post up a pick of your rear gaurds after you rolled them

looking back at the photos above after you put your wheels on: noticed there's more wheel gap at the front than the back. mine (still stock) is the other way around

Updates after a long month later. I've had the coils installed with camber bolts on the rear.

Still have to finish off the custom grille, repaint job with plastidip, bodykit installation. Rear disc brake conversion kit.

Lets put it this way, i'm screaming like a girl everytime I see speed dumps and humps, I hear a bit of rubbing at the front but its okay, only happens when i hit heavy changes in the road.

I definitely breaking a lot of necks and turning heads for all the wrong reasons. I saw a gtr pass me and i saw him totally turn his head to see my ride. Had few guys in Subarus pass me and wind the window down and yell out sick rims. Had a few kids in their V8 Ford Falcon turn their heads for my rims.

A lot of people ask about the rims thinking that they are pretty expensive and a lot definitely think that my ride looks hella crazy on the freeway due to -4.00 camber . So sad I didn't get rolling shot on the freeway.

All in all the comfort drive in my car out a scale of ten is -10 LOL. You see that change in the road height by 2cms I FEEL IT, you see reflectors in the road I FEEL IT. Bumpy ride, but at what cost? Less tyre rub and wicked ride height. Its simply clean =D.

Looking to get stuff from EBC when they get in sprayers again. Plastidip kit + sprayer for 500 ish not sure about shipping to perth. Need to sand down the TR bodykit and fit it on the car . I am also looking to buy the JDM OEM toyota AE110 98-01 Rear Lights from Import Monster and to finish off the kit I am going to ship over from eastern states the Sportivo lip.

Everyone should have the set JDM OEM lights, they are dam affordable if you find them at the right price, much cheaper than a single OEM light in australia. 4 Parts JDM < 1 PART Australian. Stupid thing is that they are BOTH OEM .... FACTORY STANDARD.
Same size same shape same globes.

Question... Do you really need the Sportivo lip with that front bar? and will it fit? i put a sportivo lip on mine and it mounts to the original bumper.

I wasn't keen on getting the TR Front Bumper on the car because t just looked too fugly imo. That's why I'm opting to purchase the Front sportivo lip from eastern states, much cleaner look and if it doesn't look low enough i might just buy some of this stuff to make it look cooler =D.

On another note i was wondering if anyone on here has managed to remove those factory stickers on the rear? I know I can remove the badges and glue because i've got the tools for it. But the stickers? I haven't seen a post regarding removing the factory stickers. For the people that got them removed, they've all had full resprays.

id try a razor blade with some soapy water, then wax and grease remover wash then polish and it should be all sweet, i was looking at doing mine aswell so if i do it soon ill let you know how i go

I took my SECA letters off with razor blade and wax and grease remover.

Can still slighty see the letters in the right light.

I inadvertently took most of my Conquest sticker off with a Gerni :P

Still need to get the last remnants off though
