So a couple of days ago I made a u-turn fully locked the steering wheel and then quickly turned the steering wheel past 0 degrees the opposite direction to correct my course of direction. Now my car didn't seem to like that since I now get this Squeaking sound that appears to be coming from the Right front wheel assembly. It only happens occasionally like starting from a complete stop, rolling from a hill start and occasionally during low speeds < 20 Km/h. The Squeaking isn't very consistent and would go away after reaching speeds past 20 Km/h. And I know it's not from the brakes because the squeaking sound isn't as high pitched as the squeaking squeaking you get from the brakes. I'm just wondering where could it be coming from?

Does it sound like rubbing metal noise (but not the brake squeek) or does it sound rubbery. To me it sounds like it's something that is worth having it looked at but could end up being simple to fix with a bit of lube.

Hard to tell when describing sounds....

The closest thing I can describe it is, if you've ever heard the squeal coming from an old push bike brakes, those kinds of brakes where 2 brake pads clamp on to the side of the rim of the wheels, that's what it sounds like.

Soudns like it could be the shims on the brake pads rubbing against something. Best get it checked out ASAP.

I've booked the car in to be looked at by a proper mechanic, just to be sure.

it could be warped rotors...

Any suggestions on how to check this apart from hanging heads out of the window while slowly driving to listen?

It's hard to pinpoint when I can't hear the sound... U should start to eliminate stuff... But yeah see what the professional say first...

I had a similar problem a few months back,my water pump leaking and it was dripping onto the belts causing it to squeak.(mostly happen during the morning/cold start or low speed) got it change and now it's fine, but now I've got another noise and I think it's my rotor.
