Hi,

Did a lightweight install and clutch replacement, but missing the torque grip after 3000 rpm

Is my car too heavy or something else?

Will installing a DD intake manifold with new IACV, SRI with heat sheild and 440cc injectors bring back the torque grip past 3000 rpm?

Initally i just thought it was bad clutch and flywheel.

Let me know if you have experienced the same thing, or am experiencing it - want to bring back the torque when i get past 3000rpm

Do you mean it is slipping above 3000rpm? I'm not sure what you mean by torque grip.

Adding more mods to it won't solve the problem. Are you sure it's not placebo? Do you have base line dynos or drag times to compare against?

I mean before I used to experience a lift experience past 3000 rpm. Not major like at 6000rpm. In simple terms, my car felt fast when it went past 3000rpm

did a lightweight install and clutch replacement

What does the"lightweight" part of this sentence mean?

You changed your flywheel? to a lighter weight? and did a clutch and pressure plate change?

It sounds like what your saying is that your "torque curve" has changed.

And it would if you did change to a lightweight version of these..... you would loose lowdown torque.

You have nothing really to compensate for the loss... IE cams/headwork induction.. all you have done is robbed your engine of it's only real power..... torque.... which is mostly generated from the spinning of your stock heavy flywheel.

If it's not the case and you only changed to a "lighter clutch and pressure plate" then it wouldn't be as significant and i would agree with Dave.

so what are you suggesting?

Maybe its my VVT-I not working properly

I'll have to do a piston pressure check, and then move on from there - process of elimination

if my engine pressure is ok (200-ish) then maybe my VVT-I isnt working properly

suggestions?

If you have put a lightened flywheel and clutch in, you have reduced torque, this can not be put any simpler.
