Removing Starter Motor - Hilux 2WD Ute

Hi

I have searched high and low for an answer so I hope someone here can help me! :)

I cannot work out how to get the starter motor out of my Hilux 2wd Ute. It's all disconnected and unbolted but it doesn't fit through any gap in the engine bay to physically remove it.

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips?

Thanks!

which motor? std aspirated or turbo/modified? Can be tight squeeze, around cables etc, but they do come out. 2L/3L usually come out from rear of motor bay, held vertical. Not normal to remove manifold IME. Eng bay pan would have to come off if there is one for below exit. NB they're heavy, and awkward to juggle in one hand. Real sods to refit IMHO. 2 people can make that easier, one underneath doing the bolts. Careful to get it to seat propperly when tightening.
