Hey guys,

Recently got a second hand Sportivo which only came with 1 keyless remote. No slot to turn on car with a key.

Was wondering how I can go about getting a second remote without paying a small fortune to toyota?

Such a key would not work correct?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-Complete-Remote-Control-Fob-Aurion-Kluger-ATX-Prodigy-Sportivo-SX6-/321838119171?hash=item4aef0bf903

Only this would?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2006-2008-TOYOTA-AURION-PRESARA-ZR6-REMOTE-IMMOBILIZER-SMART-KEY-/281495193823?fits=Year%3A2008%7CModel%3AAurion&hash=item418a6bc8df

And that needs to be programmed only by toyota?

Thanks for your help guys!

Your first link is for a central locking remote for the Aurion with a keyed ignition, so that is no good for your car.

The second link looks correct but there is no part number listed. Be cautious of the Ebay keys as sometimes they are used keys in new shells which can't be reused or they, poor quality Chinese keys or even ones not for our market and use a different frequency..

The key does have to be programmed diagnostically so it will be a trip to a dealer or a Locksmith, but don't expect any guarantee that it will work. I also think it would be a good idea to find someone that will try code it for you before you buy it as a lot of companies wont program Ebay keys.

I have found that some good locksmiths you find in the middle of the shopping centre have decent prices for replacement fobs and keypads and keys. Heaps cheaper then the dealer and they give you instructions to program them too. If you can't then some may come and help you.
