How can I cut dealer delivery charges and get the BEST price on a new 2.8l PRADO?

The dealer delivery charges, and price in general of a new prado is off-putting to say the least. How can I get the best deal possible with out all the silly haggling?

I've had a long history with Toyota (2008 Kluger Grande at the moment - 2nd one, plus a 2012 Corolla sports sedan). but it seems this loyalty counts for nothing.

I walked into my local dealer yesterday for a test drive, and it was like they didn't know me from bar of soap, after years and years of buying new cars from them, and servicing.

I feel an end to a long relationship is about to end. Looking forward to test driving the new GLC, and the VW Elements.

Bye bye Toyota :-(

How much do you think haggling could knock off the new car price?

My guess it's its better to wait until the end of the month (sales targets to be met) or is that an urban myth?

Or similarly waiting until the end of the year to get the best deal?

End of financial year is your best bet generally. The amount you get off the price will depend on your ability to haggle.

ordered mine from my local toyota, graphite GXL 2.8 auto, with no other options, pick up this Friday all for $61250 coming down from $63990 listed promotional price, I think its a reasonable price

Considering the new 2.8L diesels are a _brand_ new model you'll struggle to get much off the sticker price. If it was late-model or runout stock then you're in a much more powerful position bargaining-wise, but the dealer has no reason to discount brand new stock.

For what it's worth, I just bought a GXL advertised for $65490 with metallic paint, added a tow-bar and roof racks, and got it for $59680 drive away.
