5SFE rebuild time!

hwey guys im about to do a rebuild on my 97 widebody over the next cpl weeks is there anything in particular i need to watch out for in these motors ???

whole engine refresh , gaskets , reshave head piston rings, and doing the big ends at same time the works

Sludge, balance shaft bearings and corrosion in the water jackets, that's about it.

got the sludge part and this #ucker is full of it hasnt had a day of love before i bought it ive spoent nearly 2500 so far and it just keeps throwing parts at me

it is when u dont have much mate lol we are battlers atm , and it is when it was only bought for 600 in the first place !!!

In that case, you should have expected to spend a decent amount of money on it.

Why put the balance shaft back in? I understand it can be left out as long as the oil supply gallery to it is blocked off.

Is this true?

If it is removed, vibrations are increased.

It can be removed.
