Ok. So I know nothing about my Camry. I've had it less than a month.

What I do know about it is it does not have a tow bar. I want to put a Hayman Reece style hitch on it.

Can you wise ones help me out with any model numbers I should be looking out for that would help me find the correct tow bar for my Camry?

By model numbers, I mean both model numbers of the car and whatever hitch you have attached to yours.

Thankyou all.

4 cylinder is the SDV10 or SXV10. 1995 was the changeover year. The body shapes remain the same and should share any aftermarket components between the SDV and SXV.

6 cylinder is the VCV10. The VCV10 also shares the same body shape  and most components should be interchangeable.

The exact information can be found on the compliance plate at the rear of the engine bay on the firewall.

Sadly, Hayman Reece only list a towbar that is unsuitable.

They show this:

I am after one like this:

Besides, I am after a second hand one.

I haven't seen the removable tongue style tow bar for the Gen 3 Camry.

I have found one. Or rather a friend has found one for me.

It is for a station wagon. My Camry is a sedan.

Are they interchangable?

Regardless of the style (tongue or hitch) Hayman Reece list 2 totally different part numbers for sedan & wagon. And remember the series will also make a difference.  My parts interpreter experience says no the wagon bar will not fit the sedan.
