I just got a 2010 Corolla Ascent 1.8L MY10 with factory head unit (no bluetooth) and speakers. I wish to upgrade the head unit, speakers and add a subwoofer and have already decided on a Sony MEX-N4200BT for the head unit, but am very confused on the choice my speakers and subwoofer options. Should I go for Alpine vs Pioneer?

Alpine are generally considered better quality, but also carry a higher premium. Pioneer are acceptable quality

I got some Focal speakers in my car in all doors. Had to make spacers for the rears to fit but they're awesome quality and I got them for a good price at the time too.

I got a Clarion 12" subwoofer (dual voice core) which I've had for years and it sounds great too. I have a Option Audio mono-amp only powering the subwoofer.

Any idea which is better-  Kicker 43 CSS 654 or  Alpine SPS- 610CG and can I get away with either of these without an amplifier to power them?

Bump...

Sorry, just changed the components to the following:

Alpine SPS 610C Splits 6.5” for the front – 80W RMS
Alpine SWS-12D4 subwoofer – 12 inch, 500W RMS

But am stuck on which amplifier to power both of the above. Am keeping the rear factory speakers for the moment, so am just looking for something with sufficient power for the 2 fronts and 1 sub.
Any suggestions? I prefer to have a single amp, rather than 2 – which probably means 5 channel is the way to go? Thanks.
