NEED HELP(NO Cabin air filter)

Marco Tam

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am Marco, I owned 2004 toyota camry sportivo MVC36

Recently, when I turned on my A/C, the air is so smelly.

so I checked online and look some article in the Toyota club.

I recognise that 36 series didn't have any cabin air filter.

Thus, what should I change if I want to stop the stink.

Although, I am not expert and I am a student, the engine air filter will help it or the other ways  can improve the situation?

I hope someone can answer me. Thanks

Have a lovely day guys

Marco

You can actually install a cabin filter in the ACV36R series, if you cut out the opening where the cabin filter should be installed there is space for it. I went to my local wreckers to try this before doing it on my own car and this it how it looks like . The cutout isn't perfect as I was using a bad knife. The RAV4 and also maybe the Tarago cabin filter tray should slide right in perfectly into the slot if the cutout is done right.

Above where the tray is there a open gaps, see above photo. Wouldn’t a piece of filter over this work rather than cutting out plastic. Any build up that still gets into fan is very easy to remove, three screws drop fan and clean.

Hi, I bought, in Thailand, the same camry and was very surprised to not find any cabin filter.

So what have you done finally?
