I'm not too sure about taking out the dash but i can offer you a tip on installing the HU itself. don't hack up the original wiring connector. you can buy a connector from Jb or something and hack up the wiring from the adapter. it makes it easier to install the factory HU if you need to. Also have alot of fuses handy. :D

I have removed the middle dash alot of times......:)

what sort of HU do u have ? single or double din ?

either way I think u need some spacers from toyota

I think it is very similar to the one from corolla.org, cos I followed their one as well. It is very easy.

unscrew the gear knob,

remove the plastic piece which the gear stick sits (it clicks off),

remove the screw from the center console (whole 2 screws from my memory), then the center console should click off as well..there should be no screw on the top of the console.

Unplug all the connector at the back.

unscrew the 4 screw from the black piece (top piece of the centre console)

then unplug the connectors and wires from the stock HU.

this is only from memory... so do it carefully.. :)

and remember dont just leave ur center console dangling next to ur gear stick...

I forgot abt that...and scratched my center console... :(
