Anyone had any major dramas with their clutch??? Ive got my car going in Friday for a throw out bearing in the clutch to be replaced!! (after 3000kms) This brings a bit of a worry to me bout the clutch as 6 hrs labour already is required after 3000kms!!

Anyone else had dramas??

Cheers

do you ride the clutch while idling at the traffic lights? the throw out bearing is taking tremedous pressure from the pressure plate when you step on the clutch.

The less time the clutch is dissengaged, the longer the bearings will last. shift to neutral and get your foot of while at lights. If you're already doing it then i apologise and take it back :D

it's just that i friend of mine used to have his foot ont he clutch the whole time while at the lights. then he wondered why the clutch was making funny noises after only a few thousand km's.

my clutch pedal was getting really really soft (10,000 kms) i had it taken in for rattles, they said the gear selector cables were loose and "cable modification" was done. when i got the car back, the clutch was alot more harder, which is good, cuz it was gettin abit hard to drive with it being so soft.

I dont ride the clutch, but the point i was making is that i could ride it all day long and it still shouldnt've ****** up at 3000kms....

Not winging about it just was a bit shocked!

Mine at the moment when i am engine braking e.g if im going down a hill and want to slow down and i put it in seconds and let it rev out and i use the brakes as well to stop sounds like 2 things are rubbing against each other. Also when i am accelerating from stand still when i clutch to shift i notice the same scrapping/rubbing noise as the clutch is being applied and released are these the symptoms u guys had or have i gotten another problem some how ?????
