Starting troubles - 1996 Toyota Camry CSI

Hi, I own a 1996 Toyota Camry CSI 5 speed Manual.

In Mid 2018 my car was having starting problems and would happen at random times. The car would try turning over but nothing would happen. We ended up replacing the Computer as one of the chips had blown, and i fixed the starting problem i had. Until recently my car has started doing the same thing but not as frequently, yet. 

I was wondering if this is a common thing with this model car? Or if there is something else that could be causing this to happen?

How would the starter motor be blowing the ECU out?

What exactly is the current issue with your vehicle?

Is it that the engine cranks but won't start?

We had two separate starting problems on the wife's SXV20, first one was an almost non-existent negative terminal (and I mean non-existent, I've seen Swiss cheese with more structural integrity) which meant that the ground was downright ordinary, so on hot (or cold) days it would randomly just not fire at all.  Second time it was really reluctant to start (you could hear it lugging over and often just didn't have the guts), swapped in a second-hand Denso reduction unit from an SXV10 (the SXV20 had a Bosch unit) and that fixed it for a while but even then it eventually started losing power after a while.  By that time we had gotten rid of the car though so it was the new owner's problem.
