hey guys am new to this and just got a rugged x and didnt realise the boot lid just falls down, is it normal because wen i ask the dealer they say its normal not sure.

i was looking on youtube and they suggested installing a strut to slow it down anybody got any suggestions around melbourne north, i dont want to install it my self

Welcome to the forum Kanna, Hope some answers come for you but does sound normal if no struts are already fitted to the lid to slow the fall

Hi there, do you mean the flip down tailgate ? If so, they don't or ever had a strut. They are simply hinged and supported with a high tensile steel cable on both sides. I've had many dual cabs in my time and none ever came with a strut. That's just how they are.
