Engine oil

Without commenting on the quality or performance of whatever oil Coles rebrands, 15W40 is significantly thicker than what is recommended for the 2GRFE in the Aurion.  Online lube guides etc call for either 5W30 or 10W30.

My recommendation is NO.

I value my engine a lot higher than to use a budget brand oil.

I have a few containers of 15W-40 oil which I will use as a 50:50 ratio mixed with diesel to use as a flushing oil when I am doing an oil change. I previously used it in my mower as a substitute for SAE30. After some research now also using a full synthetic 5W-30 oil in the mower.

Current AutoBarn catalogue has Gulf Western full synthetic 5 litres 5W-40 engine oil on special for $17.99 [70% discount] which I have bought to use in my Aurion.

15w is too thick for cold start up, which is why 5W is recommended in most cases.

Don't let the temptation of cheap oil confuse you.

SCA, Auto Barn and Repco have periodic specials on for various high quality synthetic oils, so you should purchase a few when they are so you have what you need when you need it.
