hi l have a 2003 camry, its using about 1 litre per 5,000 km on country highways, how worried should l be with that oil use, its 5w-30w

Posted (edited)

thanks the last couple of years l noticed its using more oil, so 1 litre per 5000 km would be pity normal for a 20 year old camry with 300,000 kms;

is 5W -30W the best oil and what  brand is best or are all the brands like pity much the same

Check your owner's manual for the oil viscosity ranges recommended for your specific vehicle. Additional option is to search the Lube Guides for Penrite and/or Nulon.

I buy my engine oil when on special and stay with proven brand name oils e.g. Penrite, Nulon, Gulf Western, Castrol, Shell, etc.
