Hi, I have a 1996 Toyota camry vienta (3vzfe) with 230k kms and this morning when I was going to work the car died on me.
I tried starting it wasn't starting. I tried again this time giving it a bit of gas and it started, every time it slows down it dies but starts again after I crank it whilst giving it some gas. what do you guys reckon the fault could be?
the battery doesn't seem to be an issue as the headlights and radio are working on accessory position, apart from this issue I haven't noticed anything else, the car was running perfectly fine yesterday.
I was thinking of tightening the throttle cable to try running the car for now, is it a bad idea? Cheers.

Based solely upon a past experience with this similar issue, throttle body and the Idle Air Control valve need to be cleaned.

Have a look at a few YouTube videos and they will show what you need to do.
