Anyone would recommend any tyre places for toyo T1R in sydney?

Posted (edited)

blairs wheels in Canley Vale/Cabramatta.

Its got a huge 4x4 Tyre in the front.

CABRAMATTA BLAIRS TYRES 107 HUME HWY 2166 02 9724 0771

I was looking at toyo tyres at one stage, called several places, eg TyrePower, Australias Best, Bob Jane.

Blairs @ Cabra was the cheapest for the Toyos , the other blairs tyres in Peakhurst, was ok, but not as cheap.

That's cheap. I paid $252 each for 205/55/16.

Is there a big difference between T1R and Proxies 4 ? ie.. is it worthe price difference?

Posted

AFAIK..... Proxes 4 is a mid-range model, T1R is a semi-slick

(I could be wrong)

check the Toyo website Toyo under products

has anyone priced Toyo Trampio R1Rs?

Dont know about Trampio R1R's, I've only heard of Trampio TPG.

Anyways, pricing on Trampio TPG

215/45/R17 91W @ 180

195/60/R15 88H @ 126

225/50/R16 92V @ 195

205/55/R16 89V @ 144

205/50/R16 87V @ 195

From Blairs @ Cabramatta, i called around and they were the cheapest (cheaper than Blairs @ Peakhurst).

These prices were current as of Feb2006, dont know what they are now though, however this should give you a good indication.

Anyway, you could always haggle for a discount afterwards, the guy was nice enough and gave me a $5 discount on my wheel balancing (cos thats all i needed to do).

what size is that?

how come there's such a big diff ? can i actually use 205/55 on our stivos?

205/55/R16 89V @ 144

205/50/R16 87V @ 195

205/55r16.. blairs first gave me a price of $210.. then got it down to the same as JYDMYard once i told him I've seen it for cheaper else where.. also he told me that the stocks are low atm.. and the prices may rise very soon.. ehh.. probably just sales bs..

my understanding is that 205/55/R16 would be a more common profile than the 205/50/R16.... the same reason why the stock 195/55/R16's cost so bloody much even though they are such plain tyres.... uncommon profiles.

why doesnt anyone fit 205/55r16 on their stivos, if it's so much cheaper?

Posted

yeah so far like every1 says, go to blairs they are so cheap the 1 in cabramatta

i got proxies 4 on my car, and i paid $150 eah for them

got it from JDMYARD

they sometimes have specials on these tyres,

last time i check on the tyres like 3months ago jdmyard had specials on the t1r for 16s

at $160 each

yeah whatever u dig man , u can go through jdmyard or blairs, but jdmyard gets it through blair @ peakhurst anyways

Just had them fitted. Excellent grip in dry, no more smoke when planting the foot on take-off, they even don't let go when you turn from a T intersection. I will update with a wet weather result when it rains.

As a side effect the car no longer tramlines on tram tracks.

And cheaper then the OEM Bridgestones - bonus.

I have put the Proxes T1R's on my car now, i will let you guys know what sort of wear they have after 5,000kms when i rotate them....I was looking at the C drives but opted out of them

how much does it cost u to get them? where abt did u get the tyres? thanks

Dude the price is in my quote that you put up in your last reply.

Ive had the tyres on now for 5,000kms and there is no sign of wearing. Grip has been exceptional in all conditions. :yahoo::yahoo:

I recommend these tyres to anyone!

I have about 7mm worth of tread now, I've had them for about 7,000K's now and they have saved me a couple of extremely close calls that would have wiped my front end out if I were using cheaper tyres. I know my abs works... :)
