exhaust too hot?

Recommended Posts

on tue occasions after a good boot down the highway ive been pulled up by other motorist at the lights and they have imformed me of red hot (glowing)/exhaust ... anyone else ever experienced this after a good thrashing around?

I knew it was quite possible whislt doing burnout as there is no air circulating around to cool it down but whilst sitting on 80 plus mainly in lift :P

anyways... let me know :P

exhausts tend to get quite hot, espacially when in lift for some time (engine revs are very high therefore gases are extremely hot) the gases dont have enough time to cool from the manifold to the tip.

recently on a drive aling a deserted highway a hotted up skyline flew past me and slowed down about 4 car lenghts infront of me. me along with all the occupants of my car noticed the red glow from the exhaust. it looked very impressive, so i think anyway.

do not concern yourself with it. it will not glow red when u drive normally, ie not in lift. but who the hell wants to do that? :P

Fix it?

I want my exhaust and brakes to glow just like on Gran Tourismo when you replay the race.

I recommend after a hard drive get out and put your hand on the exhause and see how hot it... but you wanna get a tight grip on it otherwise you wont get the correct temp reading.

:D :D :D :D

(seriously though im joking, no one go out and try this for real)
