New clutch install price

hey Guys

i knwo alot of you have go thte clutch changed.

How much $$ ballpark should i be looking at paying to get a clutch installed and the main seal replaced.

I already have the clutch i just need to get it installed, replace the seal (60 bucks frm toyota) and machine the flywheel.

what would i expact to pay for somthing like this and how logn will my car be out for?

3-4 hours labour @ ~80-90/hr

$30-40 to machine the flywheel

$30ish for gearbox oil (we use Castrol VMX80 in C series boxes with good synchro's)

$10 possibly for new driveshaft nuts if they get damaged during removal

5 minutes of labour to replace rear main seal

The cost of your clutch kit ($160-280 depending on type)

then probably another $50 for workshop consumables :P

Car shouldn't be needed for anymore than a day max. Took us half a day to do MAP81's in the home garage, on a hoist with a trans jack it's much faster. You dont need to remove the whole K frame on the ZZE corolla's which saves at least 45 minutes.

hehehe i installed a new clutch in my ae86........omg it was hard work for a beginner like me. but it felt cool that i learned something...........that and i was too poor to pay someone to do it !!! :D

replacing a FWD corolla clutch is twice as hard as a sprinter clutch.

It's highly recommened you replace the flywheel bolts, you're not supposed to re-use the old ones, 8 bolts will set you back $91 or so. (2ZZ motor)
