Hey i got some new wheels on the weekend. They are 17*7 5Zigen FN01R-C in hyper black and are apparently the last set in corolla stud patern in aus so i got a very good price, then it was even beter when one of the wheels had a tiny chip in it so i got $100 off a wheel as there where only 4 of them left. They only weigh 6.8kgs each and before anyone says it needs lowering it will be getting done this saturday, cant wait :D :D

Sweeeeet :D

And once it's lowered you won't even recognise your own car!

Does anybody think some sort of virus has hit ATOC the last month. Everybody's wheels seem to be getting bigger all of a sudden.

screaminrolla looks good! still going with whiteline springs?

:P :P :P Nice!!!!

Hows it feel on the road...ie more grip, corning load (looks like you got new rubber too) .....do they feel the same as the stock rims weight wise or lighter???

Posted

QD i havent really gone for a trash yet but the grip round corners is about the same, but its better for powering out of low speed corners, no more single black lines. It takes of from the lights a bit better, more grip less weight :D

you wont feel the better handling, till u lower it. The only thing u will feel is a lighter pocket :o , thoughts saying **** have i dont the right thing  and omg everyone is looking at my car, must be the rims B)

Hey Screaminrolla, did you change your brake pads? I noticed yours is different, mine is Blue in colour from factory.

I changed the springs and shocks yesterday, pretty easy job took me and a mate about 4 hours to do. The hardest thing was taking a hacksaw to my front struts so i could put the inserts in. Anyway it looks heaps better now and handles very well, even has a bit of lift off oversteer ;) Ill post some pics up tomorrow.

hacksawed the front struts :o

how did you close up the area you cut? did the koni come with a cap?

Posted

you have to hacksaw the struts because they are sealed and you need to use the stut casing to house the koni inserts.

Here are the pics.
