I was browsing the UK site.. and notice this thread

Lift bolts

Has anyone in australia asked their dealer to check the lift bolt ?

They'll give you a funny look.. And waste 30mins of you time as they walk around asking all their mechanics.. Then come back to you and say.. They dunno what it is..

already pulled the top of the head of with my car and had a look at the lift bolts and I have the 2nd gen lift bolts with the longer shaft.

Not sure at which time they started to use he new lift bolts. but it seems that more often than not it occurs in celica in the US than cars over here or UK
