  1. abit off topic, but does anyone know the part numbers for all these extra parts needed to fit the rear swaybar?
  2. lexus charged 4500 for a new clutch in the is200. don't feel so bad! maybe you toyota boys should get your cars serviced at Lexus. Toyota dealerships generally don't give a stuff - they have thousands of people through the door each day. Too big to notice, too big to care.
  3. i agree with you guys. This cup182 is obviously a renault driver.... what really destroys his credibility to me is the fact taht he calls corollas poorly built. Have any of you driven a renaultsport clio? They are just awful. There is wind noise, fit and finish is appauling, gear shift is vauge and heavy, driving position is poor and unforgiving, i could go on but i wont. Sure it does also have its good points ill admit that! but it all dissapears out the window as soon as you nail it! MAN! torque the whole way through the rev range. That said, i'd own one if i fit into one - purely for supid grin factor. The fact of the matter is that these guys really dont know much about what they are saying. Keyboard warriors. Sure the golf gti and golf r32's are ultimate performance hatches - but the term hothatch really is a subjective thing. Ive driven a sportivo or two and not only are they very practical and comfortable (again subjective) but they are an absolute HOOT above 5k. But above all you aren't spending stupid money on them. Theyre a quick, roomy, competant and fast daily hack. You get these motoring journo's who come out of their dinosaur V8's and they whinge about the lack of torque. The lack of torque down low is only noticeable when your going up a hill with a full load of fat bastards in the other seats. Basically what i'm trying to say is - that in my limited driving experience of only 3 years - the sportivo is the _MOST_ fun car i have driven. This comes from my experiences in sp23s, renaultsport clios, commodores manual and automatic, rb 20 and 25 skylines, is200's (maybe bar one with a 1jz under the bonet running 220+kw), jap spec 4cyl altezzas, vti-r civics, 1zz corollas etc etc and so on and so forth. But fark let them talk their crap about stivo's - we all know what they are capable of - we just have to shut them up on the track and on the strip ;)
  4. have you got anything to add to the thread? or are you going to keep riding around the forums on your high horse as usual?
  5. ha! want to make any more excuses? bad luck mate, gotta take it easy in the wet
  6. Hey everyone. Recently we aquired a CAI and yesterday after about 3 hours of taking things off a trying to make the mofo fit with the battery still in tact we got the thing installed. We ended up with 2 moduless that we had to take off the stock airbox and a few lines and a T piece feeding into nowhere. (one of them a vacuum line that we had sealed up) My question is what did you do with all of these items and modules? Are they throw away? or are they cable tied up somewhere in your engine bay? Anyone else have the shift performance CAI? Is it ok for the battery to be sitting on an angle? its not flat but its secure. I just get the feeling its not right. Anyway if you all could show me picture of your CAI installs in your facelift stivos i'd really appreciate it. thanks yall
  7. thanks guys.... 300 is pretty fair, but im looking for a cheap set of track rims - i saw a set go for 200 with tyres so i thought that was about the going rate. I really am just after any camry wheels in 16" with tyres and want to spend about 200ish. Want 6.5 - 7 inches wide :D
  8. the change can only be a bad thing. electronically controlled throttle body is a really bad thing. expect less pedal feel, less power and torque and a general doughy feeling when using the pedal. get the normal one while you can
  9. not once was it ever mentioned about any traffic lights or that this racing was done on the street. your just assuming that! ot i got absolutely destroyed going up a steep hill in my 6mt is200 by a auto 1zz no birds car. i was redlining in 2nd gear change to 3rd still climbing that this corolla sedan just flew past. theyre not a car to be underestimated.
  10. they are the two worst options ever! sera could possibly the gimmickyest most boaring car ever to come onto the australian market. Buy something useful like a nissan micra and make it into a track car for CHEAP. If you buy either car i will beat you.
  11. wow 320nm of torque, youd be going through tyres and clutches like nothing else. its funny though, becuase i thought they may steal the mazda 3 MPS motor...they stole the body afterall.
  12. huners hill tint. in east ryde/hunters hill. VERY cheap and VERY GOOD tint and a nice guy overall. pm me if your after his number, ive got 15% its pefrect. 28% is a comprimise. you can getthe whole car done for ~150-180.
  13. 17's are still a comprimise, as rolling inertia will be larger, however you will most probably have 0.5-1" fatter tyres which does mean more grip. idealistically, i'd get lightweight 16"x7-7.5" wheels with semislicks :D and no, dont do springs, unless your lowering totally for looks. get coilovers.
  14. dyno sheets/figures? what did that TYPE-S mucher get? :D
  15. i ran a tank of mobil synergy 8000 in my car (mobil's top stuff) and it made my car run like absolute dog**** compared to the Bp ultimate i use. The thing was struggling up hills and everything. my advice to you is try some BP ultimate and if it hasnt improved by 3 or 4 tanks time check your plug gaps and o2 sensor. I realise your car is probably near new but its worth a try anyhow. dyno sheets would help a great deal with diagnosing your problem....
  16. buy coilovers. rule number 1: don't spend money to save money...
  17. They are on every habib's wrx and commodore. They are cheap becuase they aren't well designed and theyre a VERY HEAVY rim. Get something 16" and lightweight. Get some 5 spoke rims and paint them black. White car + black wheels = sex
  18. organise it a month or so in advance so people have time to organise themselves. I reccomend a cruise to wollongong! So long as you people can control yourselves. Afaik tocau doesnt have CAMS affiliation, so there will be no liability insurance - so cruisers need to be careful! cruise to wollongong, lunch and cruise home. Make a day of it people.
  19. i hear most of these types of problems coem down to crappy tyres, which often aren't quite properly round! What tyres are you running? I've heard problems in particular in relation to falked 326's or whatever. tempe tyres crap
  20. the strut bolts would be the first to go if anyything at all was to break. i doubt a strut brace would snap....i'd like to see pictures though :D....unless the piece of metal was a particularly dodgy one i doubt it would snap. Sure whiteline strut braces aren't quite as fantastic as more expensive jap brands, but theyre decent for what they ask for them.
  21. i can't beieve how many of you geniuinely believe a strut brace makes no difference.... most of you musn't be very 'tuned in' to their cars....no offense.
  22. leave the altezza lights FOR THE *** DANM ALTEZZAS
