Hmm, LSD sounds like a nice investment. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind telling? P.s. More rice!
-
HAhaha Brandon u didn't post about that incident involving the Apexi did you?
-
That's amazing. That MG isn't your normal infantry weapon man. Looks like a browning anti light-armored one, and those things fire high calibre rounds at insane muzzle velocities. Now the question is. where in the rolla do we mount the katana? Ultimate rice!

Hi guys, should I disconnect the ECU before connecting the wires? Also I was moving around the wires to count the pins on the ECU and when I start the car the idle just drops to the bottom and stalls. Had to start the car twic to get it running, I tested it again and it did the same thing, is this normal? Thanks ← Disconnect the battery (-) before playing with the ecu!!! VERY IMPORTANT! as for your idle problem... hmmm... perhaps when after u reinstalled the shift light, the ecu ould have reset.
-
Hmm... i dunno, there might be hope for you yet, send us some pics of the stalk and its connector heads and i'll see what i can come up with.

Whoa, no wiring loom under the bonnet = no wiring in the interior. So even if you rip out the wiring out of ur friend's leaser u'll pretty much be doing it from scratch. i.e. threading wire through the chassis (the pros of the prefacelift existing loom is hat the lights are already grounded for you) In this case, theres not much to do but to snip off the heads of the wiring loom off the conquest (the lightbulb socket), ensuring that you retain a decent amount of wire left dangling on it and proceed with my initial instructions. Good luck man! P.s. is that stalk the same in the prefacelifts as the facelifts?

The foggies came as part of my insurance fixup (they saw the empty holes and assumed they flew out in the accident.) I wired them in myself, all you need is a relay and some wire splicers, I opted for a no switch setup that tapped the switching power for the relay from the parking lights. So when i flick my parkers the foggies come on too. If ur're in melb I can help you install them, just go get the foggies! The components to wire it in cost about ... $10ish for the relay... $5 for the wires...$7 bucks for the splicers and the heads... soon to be polarg foggies + HID = priceless look on oncoming traffic ← Negaron, so everytime you turn on your lights, your foggies will come on??? If so, what if you are driving pass a cop's car, if it's under fine condition I guess they might pull you over. They DO pull people over with foggies on when it's not raining and foggy. Man, then you wouldn't be able to do anything, that's for sure that you can't switched off the lights and try to get away but if the lights are on, the foggies are on. :( ← i got busted... pulled me for a breathe test... n asked me.. y u got foggies on.. bam!!! $75.. i was driving my bro accord.. $75!!!!!!! ← Damn, tough luck man. sorry to hear. What state are you in?

When I had those lights fitted to the wagon, all the wiring was there under the bonnet, but the interior bits couldn't be found, at least they weren't behind the driver's side dash, where I wanted the switch. I have a feeling, based on the switch design, that it is meant to fit in one of the "landscape" spots on the middle of the dash, and maybe the rest of the wiring is hidden in there. Will be interested to hear more if someone finds it. ← In the interior all the under bonnet stuff is wired into the indicator stalk. If you pulll apart the steering wheel colomn u'll find that there's a few looms that go into the indicator stalk. If we fork out extra cash, all we need to do is to plug in the new stalk that has the switch and all will work with the stock wiring. There doesn't seem to be a need for an extra relay or fuse doing it this way as the internal fuse box seems to already have a fuse there in the fog section.

Ok, the last time did my home work. All pre-face lift models have the looms already. In the post lifts i'm pretty sure its conquest up. then again its rather simple to DIY the loom too. a couple of insultaed female connectors ought to do the trick. then of course its a gromit on top and lotsa electrical tape to insulate the sucker. Without the stock loom the only trick is to have the negative terminal of the bulb grounded.

why would you put 2 1.8 VVT-I badges on? i think just one VVT-I like brandons look great too much and its a hippy car ← Nah brandon's car looking too good now, and after he gets all hisbody kit parts in and installs it, it will look too good, we gotta make it a little daggy first
-
Welcome to the club man, nah, i'm gunning for most chromed up rolla in the club, so i'm keeping all my badges on and trying to get a few more here and there. Hey Brandon, what do u reakon i try this on your car? <==> <- indicator Dual VVT-I 1.8 VVT-I 1.8 VVT-I hahahhaha ok, i'm really bored at work

But but... where do u put the rice? :( -
No need to trace the wire man, just splice it! i prefer to trace the wire just coz i like to follow where the stock wiring is threaded through the chassis. the ciggy one seems like a good idea actually, and if i'm not wrong runs its own fuze as well, even better!

MMmm... tasty! -
Yeah man! Badges are certainly not gay!!! And on that note, can we stop with the Chrome bashing already? Chrome when done well on a car is great! In this age of bronze, gunmetal and carbon fiber - a real man goes chrome!

EOI for VICTORIANS: BLACK SPUR CRUISE
negatron replied to BanGn's topic in Previous/Past Club Meets & Events
Yeah guys, I like the idea of a nice drive but nothing too hardcore eh? or better yet, we can do black spur but big bum and I can lead the way :) nothing like a couple of FAT autos to make sure everyone drives slowly! -
Pin Converter? Dunno what that is man, sounds like ur're wanting to tap into the car's existing layout for the fogs. The way i did it we're using the stock wiring but providing our own means of energizing this circuit. So i didn't use a pin converter. You'll need to pick up a pack of wire splicers from d-ick smiths (its the easiest way to do it), some insulated female wire heads (also from d-ick smiths) and of course, wire. Hard to explain here, and i wish i took pictures of my own install. but why don't u buy ur foggies and give us a ring. I see ur're in melb so u can come by and i can help u with the install.

In my Ascent I scratched the blank black button (level with the hazard light one) when removing the headunit. I went at it with kiwi (the shoe polish). Just a small dab of it on a corner of cloth and rubbed it in and the scrath is covered, te plastic is nice and shiny black too! If u rub it in the kiwi won't rub of when u run ur finger along it.

Well gee pips, Have you seen the MR2 section? there's absolutely no info there at all. And as for my posts, I do use the search bar! The corolla part of this site is probably where most of the members live, and unless I'm waaayyy off in asking non-corolla questions with a corolla prespective in mind then I don' think i'm causing the mods much of a headache eh?
-
Hi all! i've been very very tempted to get a mr2 MKii but I know nothing about (a) turbo engines and their maintainance (B) Import parts + insurance © Rear wheel drive cars in general (d) any other issues with the mr2 And the reason i've put this post here is coz i would like to get the above answers in comparison to our current (or at least my 2002) ascent?
-
Goto the apexi website and download the installation guide to the RSM, it will have a pin out for our ecus. then u just need to hook ur shift light in where the RSM tacho input is supposed to splice in

Hmmm ok then. What u need to do is to tap the ig + cable you can use the one leading to the stereo or trace that to its source and use that. So you've got your ig+ tapped and then you need to wire this to a switch, this consitutes your power on. you will connect the other bit of the switch to a relay (the back of the relay will tell u how to wire it up to ur accessory) and then when ig is on AND you close the switch , the ig + voltage will turn the relay on which will then power ur accessories. (the relay is connected to the battery and will only power items from the battery when u give it voltage from on "on" source, in this case ur ig +) where are you located? if ur're in melb i can help u out

Hey all, Can someone tell me what exactly is overdrive in autos? Is it a physical 4th gear? A ecu setting?
