  1. Hey all, I've settled on Nicholas body works near box hill mostly coz they can start work much faster than the others and the loaner car was immediatly available. I asked them to see if they can replace my smashed chromey grill (sob) with the sports one and hopefully will get foggies put in too. Well, $850 for a new grille and foggies seems like the most rip of mod yet. but well, like big bum said, at least no one got hurt. p.s. If anyone here has any good after market bonnets sources (marcus?) pls let me know! like, something with an integrated bonnet scoop like the new liberty would be awesome! I think i've seen a rolla at an auto show with one but i can't remember.
  2. well, the swift will prob need a new rear bumper and possible a new rear hatch. other wise in good keep. I'm up for a new bonnet, new front bumper, possibly a new radiator, grille, and possibly some work on the front struture (the bit the bumper bar is bolted onto.) most definitely have to go through insurance, thats way over $850 damage
  3. Hi all, Just rear ended a suzuki swift (the new one) and i was going pretty fast. slammed the breaks at 65 about 3 cars away and skidded all the way to impact. So my front end is completely screwed now. Can anyone recommend me a good repairer near Mount Waverley in Vic?
  4. Well, Big bum, like I told ya! Go for the Hancook K104s man! Good tyre for the price! I paid 165 each for mine. and don't worry about the load rating man! I'll even lend u my glove box sticker!
  5. Check that all ur cable insulation is still intact and importantly your grounding for ur audio as well. I sounds like you have a minor short somewhere in the works. :(
  6. erm, if you send it to my house I can help you install it... . . . . . on my car.
  7. You know, those don't look like real shots to me. IN fact they look like artist conceptions... most of the concept stuff never makes it to full development (just like the super camry we talked about a few weeks ago)
  8. DId you try Danz's DIY solution? search for it
  9. OOhh... a 4WD corolla hatch! I want one...
  10. Thanks man. Sounds good... but is it avail to anyone on sunday? ← Yeah, it is, completely forgot about that.. ok, lets settle on this location. timing?
  11. Wow, I just added my sis (20 year old P plater) to my policy and it went cheaper by $106! can u friggin believe that? I'm 24 and had rating 1 for ages and this is the thanks I get? sigh... p.s. young and cool just quoted me $650, but u have to go and get ur immobilizer upgraded to 3 points (cost about $300)
  12. HMm, dunno about the CAI, but I got a SRI installed and its supposed to be heaps louder than the CAI!
  13. Hehehe, and to think i was going to comment about Silvabullit's votes hitting LIFT!
  14. Well, i'm up for anything, but it is melbourne and do we really want to be caught with a bunch of us with wheels off and wet paint and rain? Well Brendon, I guess u and goodboyz and run this one. let me know ya?
  15. Yeah, but its a hyundai, the turbo charger will probably fall of the car if you hit over a certain number of revs (after the warranty has ended)
  16. Yeah, that or his throttle cable is loose and some junk got under the pedel hinge assembly
  17. Resistors are more like 5 cents, 2 if you buy them in bulk. but the key is what resistance do they put in?
  18. ok, the basis for this thing working is that the air temp sensor is pretty much a variable resistor. So what these people have done is just gone and figured out what the resistance is for a decently cold air temp and shoved the resistor into the inputs of the measuring device. So yes it will work, kind of. The problem is that your car's air/fuel ratio will be fixed and thats just not good. Not to mention the fact that this is like bringing your engine back to the days of the good old carby technology! I wouldn't bother with it. You'd probably be better off resetting your ECU every 200 kms
  19. Well, a good indoor car park would be the melbourne uni one? I really doubt it'll be crowded on a sunday arvo. and I got one of those cards that opens the boom gates, so I can get there first and if ppl call me I can just stand there and pass it around till we're all in? hahaha, ok now that i've typed it out it doesn't seem as practical. Any other covered parking lots you all can think of? Hmm... and what the hell are we going to do for 4 hours?
  20. ok then, Do i need to remover the caliper to remove the break pads? If not (or if so) pls give instructions?
  21. hey good boyz, whaddaya reakon about the idea of using blocks of wood (just like in movies when the wheels get stolen!) and did you use a gloss coat? What about the paint type? THe high temp stuff or caliper stuff?
  22. ah.. nice! but what tyres did u choose?
  23. HI all! So i'm thining of painting my calipers but does anyone know how to take them off and put them on again? I mean I don't want to mess around with brakes without getting some instructions! ok... what about how do i remove the break pads?
  24. haha in pimp my ride crx, they put a water feature in the seats of the car with a hose coming out to drink :D ← Dude, I'm putting my water pack in the car and hanging it from the seat so i have a hose to drink out of too! P.s. got the pimp my ride episode from bittorrent, its sooo not my style man... i'd spray the thing black and the crazy boot KTV system? man.... that is so weird! Where am i going to fit the golf clubs eh?
