  1. Talking about Launching hard. When I launch hard (5000 - 6000) the car tends to refuse to go into 2nd (No - I do not wanna discuss my Gearbox woes ) Well OK ... sometimes it does go in ... and when it does ... B) I was just wondering at what rev you were launching at ?? ← first launch was at 5000 - 2.5 60 ft second launch was at 6000 - 2.4 60 ft The key to launching in our car is a slight slip of the clutch...dont dump it. and if need be slip it slightly in the 1-2 change also so you stay in lift ;) It also helps to smoke the tyres, as my first run was with only road driving temp. the second run I smoked the tyres before the lineup (rubber from the track all over my inner guards and under the car now :o )
  2. Yay!..rollagrl comin' for another visit ;) WE will have to come pick you up from the airport italian job style snowflake, wei wei/pete and azza ...hehehe :P So does anyone have any ideas on doing something that weekend for Briony? I was thinking of taking her down to the gold coast maybe a few of us would like to get together and make a day of it...beach footy and cricket ????? any other suggestions?
  3. I would call up redline oils or motul and have a chat to them. Is it going to be for road use only or to the drags/curcuit every now and then!?
  4. Had mine done today and they stuffed it, made it worse than is was. Going back tomorrow. ← OUCH! :(
  5. eggbert - yeah was after the elusive 14.XXX pass as per notrthy's coment. 1zz - it doesnt matter how long you take at the christmas tree. the time starts once you leave the line. in this case I wanted to play catchup I let the other guy go off then i lauched hard and chased him ;) Blue - This run was up against a Purple XR6 Turbo. I had another run against a 400kW 300ZX which ran a 12.6......i felt so intimidated :P
  6. vehicle specs ?????
  7. well done dave B) good to see the sportivos munching away at the competition at the dyno days ;) nice figures :D
  8. Also and aswell as, due to the rubber washer that you have installed you can tighten the cradle a bit more. I have used a 39Nm torque setting on the bolts and all is good. Use this tension setting at your own risk I will not be blamed for cracking the cradle or any damage incured due to over tightening or NOT using a torque wrench.
  9. The only issues you may have is if you tighten the clamps on the elbow too tight, due to the amount of engine movement that occurs in lift. As with any metal on rubber fitting...tighten it up taught...then turn back 1/4 turn ;)
  10. Rather than just a pat on the back how about a few ppl join up for silver membership ;)
  11. No but Northy and I have already got elenis next 3 pay packets spent on intake and exhaust mods ;)
  12. OK who has got what guages in their beast? I know a few ppl have gone for some autometer guages for water and oil. Whilst others have AFR guages. But who exactly has what? As Im looking at some gauges myself. 5 in 1 Pivot Gauge - HOT!!!! Gekko - BLUE Does anyone else know of some nice blue luminated guages to fit in with the rest of my blue cabin????
  13. I have had my TRD quick shifter installed for a while now. Initially when it was installed it felt nice, but a little noisey as the orignal rubber bushes which are used to bolt through the cradle are removed for brass fittings with the cradle bolsing straight onto the tunnel. I found that if you cut top the rubber bushes off with a stanley knife and place the new rubber rings underneath the cradle and then the brass bush ontop with the bolt going through the brass and rubber. That it makes the changing quieter without loosing any of the stiffness in the cradle, and retaining the nice firm feel. B)
  14. welcome :D enjoy the stay and enjoy your car ;)
  15. Dylan.......you smell :P yeah influx, e-gene and myself can stick them anywhere :P I have placed mine on the front bar under the pod filter inlet :P (another name for no fog light)
  16. you should notice a difference for the better when using the MT90 if you dont you can also try Redlines Shockproof Series ;)
  17. Glad to hear Mike ;) another person who has yet again falllen in love again with their stivo. Apart from myself and Zee has anyone else had to go back a couple of times to get this issue fixed by something other than the technical notice ?? Also on a side note has anyone else here got a Short shifter installed ???
  18. basically if you increase the diameter of pipe from the cat back (our cat is good) and then use a good muffler you should get some gains. if you just want to do the muffler then go the dtm magnaflow muffler like shao's These are the only 2 ways that I have sen increased power output from the exhaust alsone.
  19. For ease of install I would look at the Sportivo peddles (if they fit on the ascent) But at $120 a set?????? its a bit steep Personally I went for the "Sparco' option. They cost $85 AUD but the install was alot more involved than the sportivo option. As the stock peddle on the accelerator is too norrow and made of plastic. So the arm had to be modified with a new metal plate moulded to the shape of the peddle and then welded onto the arm. Also the clutch plate had to be modified slightly. But agin this is a personal thing :D P.S check out my garage for the pics ;)
  20. Well Elenis told me the other week that I could so :P nananana nan nana
  21. Yeah but i got told my car was looking too much like influx's yesterday.....cant have that now ;) yeah i got a lift kit for the rolla ;) 2 inch lift so i can take speed bumps at 100K's now ;) na it looks that way cause of the gradient of the driveway i think;) Runx - those rims look nice B) 1zz - you need a rear skirt ;)
  22. too hard to lower it when the pic is on the angle.... and have you been told lately ;)
  23. black wheels and the front bar had been mod'd also....you notice that the bar above the front lip has been removed and its now open like the WRC version that bates drives. More agressive look ;)
  24. Here is my effort from today...too me a few more than 5 minutes cause im not used to paintshop 8 that well...but what do you think???
