  1. Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone knows which parts (performance or not) are shared by the two cars. It is a LOT more expensive for me to order from the same source that you guys use. If I could get some of the parts from the US, I could get a head start. I know the engine and drivetrain are virtually identical but for example does the TRD front tower strut brace for the Matrix work for the Stivo? Do the aftermarket suspension upgrades fit both? TRD CAI? The different exhaust packages? I'm very interested in some of the items on this site, http://www.trdracing.com so if anyone can confirm which parts are safe to order I would really appreciate it. Maybe you could tell me part numbers so as to limit mistakes.

    Thanks in advance B)

JDM - Why dont you contact Bruse @ trdsales.com and ask him if he has any contacts over your way that could help you out ?? ;)

  2. If you talk to the service manager you can usually work things out ;)

They say as a rule that they wont, but they will do tings on a case by case basis for you ;)

I have a few big rattles which they are going to look at for me next time, and I am 20K

stoopid - it also helps if you dont rock the car from the back seat :P

  3. HEHEHEHE

oh you guys crack me up!!!!!

Bruster - thx mate....at least you saw the meaning of the post and didnt worry about the car first.......:D and yeah i've been there done that too..and you are right about doing like a band-aid......quick and painless (unless you got REALLY hairy arms)

    .........oh guys...you slay me...honestly....heheheheeeeeee

  4. I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision. Thanks in advance guys.

I've suspected for some time now that my girlfriend has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my g/f. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch.

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself?

  5. oh soz my bad :( forgot he was busy

Does the diameter of resinator etc. really make a difference to you buying it?

Actually yes it does cause it may be too loud for some people for sensitive ears.... my bad again :(

DAMN IT i might stop posting for today...hehehe

If you are happy with the resuts from Benden and myself (next week hopefully) and you like what you see then go for it ;)

  6. Don't mean to stir the pot here brenden, but with mandrel bending you do get a slight decrease in the thickness of the outer wall of the bend.

It is only marginal in comparison to press bend which can move the inner bend wall some 2-3 mm

Tiger - Call Trevor on thos sorts of things mate ;) 07 32002333

imek - has already been posted by silva previously

    Russel,

Since my Corolla Sportivo was purchased in February of this year. I have had issues with changing gears at both low and high RPM.

The issue has been brought up every time I have brought the car in for servicing and also for the recent recall work.

Technicians have driven the car and stated that yes there was an uncharacteristic feel to the gear changes, which was combated with a lighter weight Transmission oil. This has not fixed the issue, and the most recent request from myself for someone to look at it again. It was driven and the issue was dismissed, as the technician stated that it was performing under normal driving conditions.

‘under normal driving conditions’ is a term which has not bee explained to me by Toyota. However I feel that changing from 1st to second or second to third gear between 2000 and 3000 RPM can be classed as ‘normal driving conditions’?

On numerous occasions the gearbox locks up during these changes and the clutch has to be let out (whilst in neutral) and then depressed again and forced into the gear which I am after. This has even occurred whilst turning into traffic at T junctions and intersections. Which in my mind is a safety issue.

I have been unhappy with the performance of the gearbox since I bought the car and still do to this day.

Could you please assist me in fixing this issue sooner rather than later.

    Regards.

  8. Sportivo Owners

Due to the arising or more people encountering sticky gear changes, crunching or grinding. I ask that anyone who has made an official complaint in writing to anyone within the TMCA corporation. To place the details of the contact person and the message body here in this sticky.

THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO COMMENT ON

This is only for the details of the complaint.

This sticky will be a reference point for people. When either compiling their own letter or when in talks with TMCA on these issues.
