  1. ed - constantly the car feels different when it comes back from toyota.....dont know what they do...but it feels stiffer sharper..newer than before it went in?

do they have some mysterious time machine or magic wand??? ;)

  2. What sort of 1/4 mile times do you guys run ??

with pre recall cars @ ~ 113 - 117 fwkW our times were 15.2XX seconds

A couple of cars are now running 120+ fwkW with varying mods. I would like to think that we would be in the 14's by now. but we are yet to see :D

  3. i'm not sure about dynos pre and post for 'stock' dynos but modified ones definatley had gains.

hames stock stivo pushed out 104kW at CES the other week...which is suprising for the recall work. (dyno machine is also known to be 2kW down from dyno dynamics shootoutmode)

So 106 from a stock stivo post recall :D

  4. Can you explain how they need to be 'modified'?

they are exactly the same as the units which are on the display from the factory.

so you simply unscrew the original ones. then screw in the new ones.

simple easy and quite impressive :D

  5. Sorry for delay on scanned sheet. It was in my car whilst it was away last week.

    DYNO Video

The engine mods on the car as of testing were

    - TRD CAI

    - TRD 4-2-1 Headers

As you can see the jump is not as great as Silvabullet's. We have found that the first mod (intake/exhaust) give the best gains.

So if you put a CAI on you'll get ~7kW then if you do the exhaust you get another ~7kW on top of that.

If you put a exhaust on first you get ~9kW. then if you put on a CAI you get ~5 kW on top of that.

So a 6kW increase at the wheels after CAI and headers is still a signifigant gain.

The system as stated before is fantastic in build quality and sounds great it also has the data to back it up. If you are happy with the testing that we have done and are keen to go ahead and seriously get one then please contact CES Racing (parts list sticky on forum)

    Please serious enquireies ONLY

  6. Pete........

    your still alive :P

    Northy - sounds good

    bullet - cannon fodder :P

    pete - nothing definate yet.

I was thinking we could meet in the city as thats where Briony is staying i think!?!?!?! we could meet at my work place and I can let people in the carpark (sneaky sneaky :P )

from there we could roll onto BP yatala and meet up with the other people. then move on down to BWCP!?

what you guys/gals think of that??

  7. NO and I'm not going to do a DYNO DYNAMICS run, unless you want to pay the $50 to get it done. We have the charts and the proof.

I will be scanning in my 'hand written' sheet tomorrow. As the sheet has been in the car with the panel beaters for the past week.

If you dont like it then 'tough luck' I'm not going to outlay from my pocket to please a minority of people.

Those who have seen the system know its good. We also have dyno results to prove it.

    CASE CLOSED!

  8. what about Australian Prices and do people have these products installed?

Price??? That you'll have to chase yourself.

And as the topic stated no talk on toms/TRD which is what a few ppl have hear. Apart from Northy and screamin' whom have excedy and fidanza.

You really have to talk to the Celica owners in the States to get good ideas on whats what I'm affraid :(

    MSRP: 478.00

(MSRP is typically higher than most shop prices)

    Description:

    ~Fidanza (aluminum) 7.5lbs

One of the simplest way to free-up horsepower on a manual transmission car is to go with a light weight flywheel. Our Fidanza flywheel is state-of-the-art CAD designed, performance balanced, and tested in the harshest of environments.

A lightweight flywheel reduces the rotational mass at the transmission area and thereby "releases" lost power that was turning that old heavy factory Toyota flywheel! Faster reving, better launches and more top-end HP is achieved because the engine does NOT have to work as hard to move this lightweight flywheel!

Fidanza's lightweight flywheel is the ultimate lightweight flywheel for the 2ZZ-GE engine! Flywheel is approximately 45% lighter than stock.

Also, the center friction section of the flywheel is replaceable, so in the future when you replace your clutch, you can just change out the center section of the flywheel, rather than purchase a completely new flywheel.

    Manufacturer: RPS

    Product: Billet Flywheel

    Part Number: RP BF-225492

    MSRP: 575.00

(MSRP is typically higher than most shop prices)

    Description:

    ~RPS Billet (aluminum) - 9 lbs.

RPS announces a new line of superior billet flywheels. These flywheels utilize RPS's patent pending "segmented" heat shield system. Traditional heat shields warp because of the uneven heat produced by a slipping clutch. Just like a car going around in a circle, the outside tires go faster than the inside tires, the clutch disc slides faster around the outside of the flywheel than it does around the inside. The faster moving outside gets hotter than the inside. Because metal expands more the hotter it gets, the outside of the heat shield expands more than the inside. Traditional heat shields are made of one piece metal rings, so when the outside expands more than the inside, the only thing the shield can do is warp. The RPS Segmented heat shields are not connected so they can expand and contract without warping. A warped heat shield causes the clutch to slip, which causes more heat and more warpage.

RPS Billet Flywheels are dynamically balanced after CNC machining. Other flywheel manufactures assume that since they CNC their flywheels it comes off the machine fully balanced. This would be true assuming the density of the aluminum is constant throughout the part. Unfortunately even the best billet material is not evenly dense throughout and the starter ring gears are never perfect.

RPS Billet Flywheels are also fully rebuildable for the life of the car and can be up-graded to Carbon-Carbon at any time.

Hope that helps some people out !

  10. ren - 22K is not out of the question I know of one black sportivo in brisbane that went for that price.

but trust us when we say it could arise...and if that is the case...at the moment you are looking at a further 1500 $ to rectify this issue.
hopefully you wont need to but if you do (see above)

Yes the CAI will for the levin.......have to check with respective states laws...but I think we have covered this in previous topics and all is good with the TRD unit :D

  11. very biased here but ...STIVO!!!

but as eddy mentioned take note of all the rattles etc.

You may not experience the changing issue straight away...but trust us when we say it could arise...and if that is the case...at the moment you are looking at a further 1500 $ to rectify this issue.

1zz also makes good comment on economy...although the stivo can get around 9-10k/l the levin would do better.....(hey pippy??)

If you are a spirited driver and love to get the most out of a car...then STIVO STIVO STIVO

If you are more layed back but still like something sporty...LEVIN!
