  1. Tiger - I'm commenting here on Genuine Toyota eylids from HK. You will need to double check that they are a good fit, and have an even gap all around and the same gab on both eyelids. you might need to cut/sand back some of the curves on the lids as I know that both of mine were not 100% exact when I got them. The tape that is on mine is VERY solid and covers the whole circumfrence of the lid. I found it best to just attach the corners of the lids to make sure the gaps are right then remove the rest of the tape by using some twesers to get under the lids. very difficult and time consuming but i got it right first time. (apart from one having a slightly larger gap then the other side)
  2. bill - great post my .0265478% / Dollar is that when you modify a car, you do it to make the car batter overall. better responce, stability, traction, fuel efficiency etc. NOT FOR MAX HP/kW. Hence why I posted this topic in the first place. to show people what my experiance was from installing the TRD Extractors. by giving them a visual aid in the form of both the dyno and the video they can decide themselves whether or no it is worth their while to do a simialr mod to their car to make an already great driving car even MORE enjoyable to drive.
  3. Big thx to blade for hosting the video for me ;) pecker - no times mate. I will have a few for you on friday though as I am heading out with Shao to do a few runs whilst his beast get the extractors also. Richi - Thx mate :D <- yes the grin is still there. there are mixed reports of the power output when stock. Someone said that a reputable aussie car mag had it rated at 86kW??? then some brit mags had it around 95kW??? I was over the moon with 102kW stock. trd_141 - Thx mate :) *puffs chest out* oz - exactly what i said b4 ;)
  4. kbeeh - welcome to the forums mate :D oz is on the ball, the stock rims are fairly expensive. I had a guy buy my rims for $800 and he tried sorcing them from toyoyta and he was quoted something alot higher.
  5. Wow toohey sounds like fun :) I too have done similar (but in a v8 racecar) There is nothing like taking a car around a race track whether it be your own or someone elses. Makes you aware of what your car can and can't do and really opens your eyes B) If anyone gets a chance to do something like this I strongly urge you to do so. oh...and GO THE STIVO :D
  6. Anyway back to the topic at hand. I hope the DYNO gives a few people an idea as to what performance parts (bolt on) from TRD, can and will do for you :D
  7. TRD Extractors As seen on TRDsales.com :D Tiger - we can't honestly say what we are running at the flywheel in the Stivo, as we are unsure of the % loss from the drivetrain. We would only be guessing figures. No there wasn't any issue at all fitting the extractors (I had the mechanic @ F.I.S.T. do it for me) I'm not concerned about power figures. The drive of the car is what is important ;) and the car certainly drives alot better now :D
  8. Well guys the extractors were installed on Saturday. Firstly HUGE thanks to Bruce Sollitt for all his help in getting these parts to me at fantasic prices ;) The TRD extractors as you can see from the DYNO have added a good gain in both horsepower and torque. As for the feel and responce of the car there is a definate pickup on the responce, and feels less restrictive (well thats what they are designed to do hey!? :P ) The biggest thing I noticed was the increased torque. The extrctors were fitted on a wet day and i found that hitting lift in first and second in a straight line the wheels did not spin as much as they used to :) All in all I'm very happy with the result and feel of the car now. :D DYNO readout I also have a 3.5 Meg video of one of the DYNO runs. If anyone could host this for me to share around to people please let me know.
  9. hmmm.....those tail lights look nice :) IMHO nicer than the altezza style ones posted on here. But I have told myself no more mods untill I get back from OS :(
  10. Managed to find a Black Sportivo going down the Centenary Highway tonight. To my supruse a black Stivo with XX-SMT plates infront of me. I pulled up next to her and was excited to see a petite dark haired lady driving (damn cute too :P ) I got a nice slap also from my GF who was with me when I commented about her. If she wasnt with me I would have wound down the window and had a quick chat ;) *sigh* ......the good looking chick in the black stivo....will I ever see her again :(
  11. oz - I think it has to do with us QLD drivers :P not the mods ....hehehe Shao - be interesting for us QLD boys to get all 3 together and have a g-tech session and get a vary of figures Stoopid - we'll have a go at the 1/4 mile down your way also at the same time :D
  12. Toohey - 2+ K for a unichip + tune?? Correct me if i have quoted you wrong but the Unichip is only $1200 - $1300
  13. silly question about g-Tech Where does it plug into ? also i noticed a terminal to the ride side of the dash near the hood release where a comp can plug into.......anyone confirm?
  14. E - go to http://www.altavista.com and go to the translate page and then select the language to translate from/to and then copy the url......TADA :)
  15. T - nope soz mate but i'll ask .....
  16. The noise annoyed me from day one also. Got it disabled on the 1000K service. Have had a similar event to xoom but mine was at a toll booth.......but it happened TWICE the guy in the range rover behind me pooped his pants i think :)
  17. change the rotors grim ;) you can also purchase sports calipers from places like autobarn etc. they are generally 2 piston type and are straight bolt on. I havent seen any advertised for a while though.
  18. Matt - Congrats mate :D as someone pointed out to me once. " I bet not even Mike Tyson could wipe the grin off your face at the moment!" Enjoy the ride, and be safe ;)
  19. 03mike - glad to hear you mounted that bracket and all is good :)
  20. black - All of my issues with rattles etc disappeared with the installation of my stereo and my alarm system. So there must have been a few loose things in there which toyota did not have the time (or even bother) with looking at in my first 1000 K Service. I have almost 6000K's up now and none of the original noises have returned, I do have a slight rattle at high revs now around the alpine headunit, but this is due to the 3 peice pocket which now sits in there. But it is nothing like it used to be. Hope you resolve this sooner rather than later :(
  21. E - nice work on 6 there mate :) i think we should loose the texture on the ATOC though too cluttered nice work though ;)
  22. Shao and I 'had' an exact same power curve on the dyno (my exhaust stock) [shao magnaflow]but we didnt check torque. Will have to look into it ;)
  23. Well done boys :) Good to see some people getting in there and having ago at things :) It's not about the power increase with the CAI (as its marginal at best) its all about the noise :D I would be interested in getting a wave file of the 'home made' CAI with the car under load. As I know the TRD one sounds awesome (have had many comments) The 'home made' also adds to the SLEEPER quality we love so much about this car.
  24. Soz was using another browser which didnt show the pics. Alls good now on IE. Nice pics :) Be great to see any more than 3 Stivos in a place at a time though. Thats the most I have seen at any one time up here in QLD. We are lacking numbers up here :( but make up for it in performance and mods :P
  25. having trouble finding links to the pics flux?
