  1. Do you think it will void the warranty?
  2. Try these guys, Champion Toyota World bought my injen off them for US$100. Their customer service is awesome, got the part in 5 days.
  3. :o Singapore????????? BTW if anyone is interested, I've started a Sportivo owners log on the Hot Hatch Forums. Great opportunity to gain some international attention for your baby. :) Corolla Sportivo/T Sport Owners Log
  4. 166kW and peak torque of 320Nm from 1600rpm plus the fact that my old man can get hold of the turbo from the Volvo S60R, lots of volvo connections. The standard intercooler can easily handle the heat from the larger, but far more efficient S60R Turbo and its a straight swap for the smaller XR5 unit which is sourced from a S40 T5. Should upgrade power to approx 205kW. Have any of you seen the Top Gear episode featuring this car? The thing handles incredibly, despite the fact that it's FWD. At $35990 minus a fleet discount, it was also great value for money. I guess I know Volvo's engines and their potential. My first car was a 1986 Volvo 360GLT. The car looked like crap but with rear wheel drive, a 2L fuel injected 4cyl and a rear mounted transaxle gearbox it was perfectly balanced & lots of fun to drive. This thing could keep up with late 90's model rollas & pulsars etc. You could even bolt on the turbo & intercooler from the larger volvo's at the time with no dramas. Volvo engines are rock solid. Don't worry, I'll still have the Stivo, the XR5 is a replacement for my company car. I could never part with the NA little warrior!!!! (Intake sound with CAI does it for me every time). damn, now i know u're the man when i ever get round to getting a T5. the heico and the evolve s40T5 are just insane.... Have you heard the burble these T5 engines make at idle? Sounds awesome. Put your foot down and the noise is very similiar to a V10. I know what you mean about the Heico & Evolve. Toyota engines are great, but my old man and I rebuilt the 360's engine after 350,000kms, what we thought would have to be pretty major was just a new set of piston rings and a timing belt. My old man wasn't suprised, he's been working on these things for years. Why not consider the XR5 Shao? Same chassis, engine and suspension as the S40T5, $25,000 less. No AWD though. Sorry all, getting a bit excited about the new car. Forgot that this was the TOCOZ........ STIVO's ROCK
  5. Just had a look at the Hot Hatch Forums, seems like there's a pretty heated debate going on. Thanks for your support fellas! ;) Seems like alot of these idiots don't really understand what a hot hatch is all about. If you wanted pure performance without practicality, why would you bother with a hatch? The only reason hot hatch's exist is because young guys without the money for sports cars decided to try & squeeze some extra peformance from their golf/corolla/pulsar/escort etc etc. Volkswagon cottoned on to the idea & decided to mass produce the GTi, the rest is history. :)

  7. Wheels and Motor magazine's Performance Testing results are done with 1/2 a tank of fuel and timing gear on board. The times they publish are an AVERAGE of two way runs (That is, they run the car both ways down the strip so you can't blame a tail/head wind on a the time). They do it this way to simulate real world performance, so what they publish isn't the absolute best a car can do. And I hardly think Bills car is standard... Read my last quote on the Hot Hatch forums. For what these guys have spent on euro hatches (or Korean imitations) Bill has been able to spend on his mods.
  8. Yes you did sir lol. If bangn can own S2000's around a track with his coilover setup then I think these people will be in for a shock with you heehee. "I admit, the Corolla is I guess a hot hatch... just that the variation on the outside from the Levin is pretty much an exhaust, and rims." - 182CUP NFI btw Woody that looks like a member of TISM in your avatar lol nope, thats me....no I'm not a freak, just doing a spot of hunting in Stanthorpe, QLD. Gets freaking cold there. Made a funny pic tho. Lmao the pic is a classic. Makes you look like you're about to sing Greg The Stop Sign! lol. You do know who TISM is right? Let me see, Triple J Hottest 100 1995........
  9. Dylan you have set the challenge like in the old westerns, meet you out on the track at dawn!!! Click Here

  11. Seriously, anyone know where I can find a clip? I'll create a link for the benefit of 182CUP.
  12. "Hey Woody, Having a Hot Hatch, you should also know speed is not what it is all about. Lap times and cornering speeds.... I admit, the Corolla is I guess a hot hatch... just that the variation on the outside from the Levin is pretty much an exhaust, and rims. Really not that much. I guess I'm not entirely convinced that the Corolla is a hot hatch as such. But hey, I'd love to go up against one and see what they are made of! On the track of course" C'mon guys, I'm sure someone can help me out with this one..........I'm flying the flag for us here!!!!! Let me see....where's that lap video of yours Shao?
  13. I guess we can thank the last few pages of Wheels & Motor magazine for their comments. That seems to be the only place where these guys gain their info.
  14. My nickname aside, I swear that engine note gives me a hard on every time. I'll be back in a couple of minutes.
  15. Seems like some of the lesser educated "hot hatch" drivers out there think that Toyota haven't produced a decent hot hatch recently. Hot Hatch Forums I love the fact that the s'tivo is a bit of a sleeper, but **** the ignorance of some people!!!!!!!
  16. Remember that this guy wants a Commodore replacement. Performance aside, a Polo GTI or DC2 Type R won't offer the type of room that this guy is looking for. I drive a new Commodore all day every day (yawn). Can't wait to get home and do a grocery run (at 6-8k) in the 'stivo. Just so much fun to drive.
  17. I'm a sales rep who spends all day driving & therefore my company has sent me on numerous driving courses. All seem to agree that the only safe & reliable way to overcome oversteer in an ABS enabled car (given differing conditions and road surfaces) is to apply the brakes. This only works in a car with ABS, don't try it without. Accellerating out of oversteer might be great if you're in the middle of a F1 race but unless you're a pro it can be very risky in normal driving situations. If we're talking about track work here then obviously this doesn't help.
  18. Hi Guys, Had a chat with a Caltex exec today who adv that they are currently upgrading their refinery in Brizzy to distil low sulphur diesel & 98 octane unleaded. The work should be completed by 2nd qtr '06 and should reach servo's by early 3rd qtr. Just thought the Brizzy Crew might be interested. Save up those Woolies coupons!!!!
  19. Anyone have an idea of the specs for the AZ series engines. I was considering upgrading to a Astra VRX but maybe it's worth waiting until '07. Dont worry: "1AZ-FSE The 1AZ-FSE is a 2.0 L (1998 cc) version. Bore is 86.0 mm and stroke is 86.0 mm. Output is 145 hp (108 kW) at 5700 RPM with 145 ft·lbf (196 N·m) of torque at 4000 RPM. The 1AZ-FSE features Toyota's D-4 direct injection system."
  20. These are indeed fantastic little cars Ariel website Aussie distributor ← Saw a couple of these while in the UK. How awesome would it be to pull up next to some idiot in a HSV or even better a silvia and see the look on their face, if you could see that far into the distance. :D
  21. Hey Ash, where do you live exactly? I've seen a red Stivo with personalised plates in Victoria Point, is that you? Before anyone points it out, yes I now realise he hasn't picked it up yet. :D
  22. Spotted a red pre-facelift Stivo at Victoria Point Shopping Centre at around 10am today. Seen him a couple of times. Great to see that a few Stivo's live near me. :D
