  1. Where'd you get them from? I got a quote for RE002s and they were over $300 a corner for the same size you've said there I think. I just ended up with a set of Yoko S.Drives from the states, $126 a corner :) Got mine from Bacchus March Bridgestone ( Victoria). This dealer in Richmond selling even bigger 235/45/17 for 220 a corner. Got my previous ones from him. http://www.ebay.com....=item415dc3f357 How much for shipping from US if you don't mind me asking?
  2. Hi, Mick $210 per corner. Size 225/55/16
  3. OMG!!! have seen this one few days ago, looks like some ugly rice tuning!
  4. I have RE002, do not feel any major difference to RE001, probably just a little bit better cornering. Going to try Continental ExtremeContact DW next time, not sure if they available in Australia will order from US if not.
  5. Probably people have desire to modify car in some ways but also want a reliable good car. Not dodgy old jap import.
  6. Just got myself new tyres. bridgstone RE002. Very quiet! Previously I had RE001. The new ones definitely very quiet.
  7. If you toped up oil between services and overfilled it, than... it damaged engine pretty badly. Blue smoke means engine will die soon.
  8. So you do mean Understeer right? Which makes more sense with what you're saying. Having said that, the understeer on the Aurion actually isn't too bad. It will plow if you overdrive it and charge hard and late into corners (But Big heavy Car doesn't), but if you give the car (and yourself) time to settle and set up for the corner, it actually isn't bad especially for a car its size, as mentioned earlier it can be pretty nimble. Would've liked the Aurion to at least have an LSD and that would be sweet. cut the corner you mean. FWD gives you less chance to control slide, if it starts to slide, then it slide. loose speed or slide. If road windy but not much i dont have problem with understeer at all, but when in starts to take sharp turns, thats the problem. I like Aurion, but step up is V8 and RWD. Or no point to change it.
  9. Sorry, my bad. English not my first language and I still making mistakes :(
  10. you can not cure understeer. understeer is the biggest problem. You can go very fast on some windy road even on small Kia or Daewoo, just put best and wide wheels on it. But if you start really pushing understeer just will kill all the effort. RWD and AWD is different story and can be pushed harder. So I do not see any point in upgrading to say TRD. Another FWD with all the same problems. Add here launch in wet- awful. On the other hand winners of WTCC are Chevy Cruze and Seat which are FWD against BMW 320. So on small cars with little weight and modifications one can achieve performance even from FWD. But on big heavy car... FWD just not gonna work vs RWD.
  11. Coz they look plain may be. I dont like look of it ether, but they are fast and nice to drive. Not much choice here(in large car segment). ether SS, XR6T, XR8 or TRD. Other V8s or V6Ts are just too expensive. Mind you all everyday fast cars are V8, such as M3, RS4, IS-F.
  12. But no more that nasty oversteer, powersteer on some narrow mountain roads during overtaking is a bitch as well. Audi S3 may be? Audi RS4 best, but price.., S3 still an option I suggest.
  13. If Kazashi V6 arrive here, price will be over the top, something like $45k-50K. for small suzuki, its just wrong. Mondeo... if live in Europe and you are veeeeryyy boooring and old probably Mondeo is a way to go..
  14. That's why you should push it to red line or close pretty often, if car driven slow and soft, all mechanical things in it become lazy and vulnerable.
  15. I got more than 50Ks of my Adrenalins 225/60/16 could not be happier. Dunlop 215/60/16 hardly lasted 30K, they were completely not roadworthy at the end. Andrenalis still had little tread left. I tend to drive hard in mountains on weekends, but everyday drive is 90% highway. Got mine for ~$169 fitted from seller on Ebay(melbourne). I considered RE050, but ended up with Adrenalins again. not sure about noise, the same as dunlops or very close. But in perfomance so much difference! Dont go with 215, they just wrong for Aurion. All that wheel spin, bad cornering, tyres will not last in 215 size. Also Adrenalins made in Australia which is better then spend money on Korea. very good web site for tyres is http://www.tirerack.com, which is US web site and very respectable. And if you have a look at survey for Ultra high perfomance summer tyres(which is ideal for Australia), 1 rank is Potenza RE760 Sport, which is Adrenalins RE001 in Australia. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHP
  16. Mitsu is a tin can, really. But Mitsu still making sales, so someone like( or have to) to drive something very slow and poor build for having automatic wipers. :) Mate, changing Aurion for Lancer is something very and very unique.
  17. Saab is a beautiful car, it is fast, it is fun and have class. If you want something sporty and classy and usually drive alone, then Saab way to go. On the other hand, Saab is strange, like some kind of small aeroplane, lots of buttons, everything facing a driver like in cockpit. This car definitely for single male who love to drive and want to be different( in audi, bmw market). Aurion is different from the beginning, larger and more practical, more usual, tame.
  18. You need good tires. Aurion is very user friendly, if it start loosing traction you will feel it before bad happens. Personally I was driving it to Gold Coast from Melbourne via Dubbo this NYE, if you remember there was very heavy rains, flooding there. On speeds that you dont want to speak about on public forums, Aurion drives like it on rails, very good.
  19. That's funny how Subaru popular in Australia. It is AWD, one don't need it here. May be some marketing trick. Secondly turbo is always bad compare to non turbo similar power, V8 always better that V6 turbo, V6 better that 2.5T. Turbo is poor mans choice, 335 BMW is V6T, M3 is V8. Never buy a turbo if you can buy same power non turbo. I will be buying Subaru only in snow conditions.
  20. Every service Toyota puts in Conditioner and Fuel System Cleaner. Is it the same as above? Or injector cleaner is different product?
  21. Got toyota refils for $10 each, much much better then bosch ones. Bosch just not lasting and cost you something like $35 each. waste of money in long term.
  22. Quality of everything is going down. Thanks to globalisation and marketing. Years ago one could expect good reliability from BMW, even M series. this days... everything falling apart in BMW, even interior looks and feels cheaper, no squeaks to some point, then something will fail. And people still pay 90K for 335 which is not better then Falcon XR6T in performance, but smaller and not reliable. Off the topic, I know. But still, Aurion is good reliable car. You can not expect good quality, power and reliability even if you pay 90K or more. How it is this days. For example, in Canada, which have pretty poor roads, Mers, BMW second hand do not cost much, like here. Because they are falling apart, Toyota on the other hand holds value, because you know for sure that it will start and take you to work no problem.
