  1. New one looks no character. If you plan to sell it then go with facelift, if you plan to pass it to your wife/gf, then go with old one. Personally I do not think that toyota will produce facelift for more than a year or two. New model must be coming if they plan to make sales.
  2. I used to have Osram Night Breakers, definitely more light than stock, more white... but they are blowing out all the time and cost pretty much. Now with 6000K HID. Much better light output, much better.
  3. From my experience on fan high its cool. on low fan its ice cold. I even had my air con replaced recently(kangaroo, hello!) and the same thing- cold on low, cool on high.
  4. Agree on this, requires a lot of self control.
  5. VSC works great in straighting you car. Danger can be if you enter corner classic way you do on mud roads- putting you car little sideways, VSC will let you do that. but when you already in a corner VSC straighting the car, so it will go forward rather than sideways... forward in to a tree. In case one drive on mud same as on normal roads VSC will be handy. But warning is- if speed is too high VSC will not help sliding it out of the road.
  6. Disabling TRC sometimes helps, but in overall, since aurion gearbox use pulse style start to dig itself out and its FWD, its not a big deal. And if you want to have little more fun on that long-long gravel and sand country roads that pedal sequence is just 5 seconds to do :) very easy. When I first time hit a wet mud road, oh man, VSC inference on some hard corner was very scary and dangerous, than you get used to it and can drift a little. But to be on safe side and have fun its better to turn it off.
  7. Persian Boy, from my experience on very mud conditions (which is similar to wet snow or ice) and some snow VSC will let you spin a little( it will work in 'pulse' mode). And guys who own Aurion in my home country, which is Russia, don't have problem with VSC as well, and you know winter there more than 3 month, its almost 8 month. But in Russia we use snow tires, which helps a lot.
  8. In Asia Camry is more like prestige car. Thats why it looks like Mers and taillight more conservative.
  9. Hard to say at this stage. Current Aurion have some kind golden era toyota cars design- nice and round. This one is more modern plastic(toy car) look with a hint of Mers and Honda... UPD. Have a look at sonata...
  10. byw, thank you. I will call them asap. Its 2 yrs old. More i drive it, more i love it.
  11. too bad im out of warranty, hit 100k mark this weekend. Have same problem, now i know it is the problem. I thought it is a feature. :)) Looking forward for new aurion and will give this one to my gf, then blame her for knock :))
  12. Compare to Dunlop Adrenalin gives a little bit less traction in wet. But they are wider(225), so you can accelerate from lights much better in wet on the other side. normally i drive pretty lazy, except mountain runs on weekend, i have mine for ~20K now. Adrenalins still good. I changed my dunlops after 35K and they were almost no treat left(almost slicks in front).
  13. Tofuboi car is nice, personally i think that rear wheels looks a bit too small(coz of tread), may be just photo. Just cheap tyres( not Tofuboy's) was mentioned. Thats all. If you say that mods are for personal taste, thats alright. Many people i know think that you trying to make different car out your own. Thats why its looks funny on the roads. Coz this thing all over the world, i traveled and lived in different countries and everywhere same idea. Cheap car=visual mods. aurion not really cheap, but.. it will never look like sport car or sound like one. Thank you for discussion. Tofuboi, sorry, mate, for creating offtopic.
  14. Come on, Aurion is not flashy car at all. Its nice ride, looks alright, it can perform, but dropping it down to make it look like sport car or putting large wheels do not change it to bmw or v8 or anything else flashy. Safety and perfomance on the average road is a key to safe driving and living. I just dont get why put style( in case of aurion) before safety and perfomance. I do understand cheap commodores putting wheels and other flashy stuff, coz nothing else can be done to them(just very old), and yes, holden have different image that family toyota. dont want to offend anybody, just my 2 cents in terms of wheels. Its not just about Aurion, streets are full with strange big rims 4wds, ugly sounding exhausts and other cheap looking mods. Why doing it to a new car to put it in same category as a cheap old one.
  15. its toyota, mate. not bmw or mercedes, not even lexus. Girls dont care how it looks.
  16. bridgestone potenza are the best. what the point of large rims?
  17. Once when i almost ran out of fuel around Apollo Bay during the night, i drove it about 80 km using D-N, mostly on N, speeds 60-110 km/h. No problem since then, it happend ~45Ks back.
  18. I have Stebel Twin Horn TM80. They are loud, but not that scary :(
  19. I love Aurion. Gearbox is fine. Speakers are not. Suspension is all right. FWD probably not very good with all that power, but hey, Aurion is really fast. I don't like a-pillars. When it comes to everyday driving fuel efficiency is great. When you take it to the mountains or great ocean road, even SS drivers give way most of the time, put it in manual 3 gear mode and you'll be just fine. Very good general car with hint of performance. from my point of view its just great car for its price. Everything comes to price. Sorry for my English, I'm from Europe, just 6 month in Australia.
  20. They give you idea what kind of curve you heading to.
  21. yep. Personally i never experienced it on a tarmac, but on offroad it beepeng non-stop.
  22. it happens if you travel a lot. Anyway, just to let you know, TC beeps.
  23. Congratulations, mate :) just change horns and low beam. Worth it.
  24. Are you guys saying that when you traction control kicks in, you get an audible signal as well? On mine, all I get is the flashing symbol on the dash cluster. If you go offroad and try to drive it like rally car, TC beeps all the time, so better turn it off if you know what are you doing.
