  1. ^^^ what this brotha said... Also on top of that if you get the model up from the base you get ABS and twin airbags..... I would not get a car without those features. Unless it was a classic.
  2. Huge fine and we are still waiting to find out what the real reson was http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,,22416482-23770,00.html

  4. I would go the Camry, huge boot ( anyone I know with a kid loves the space to put the thousand items a kids needs in there, easy to get them in and out of, cheap on parts and service, fairly well built and strong , and you have rear protection of a boot. Also nicer to drive with the family with cruise control good AC and all that.
  5. Does the service book make sense / dates within reason, who owned the car previous might be able to ask them, see if it all adds up, Check the service sticker dates as well and look for any inconsistencies like wear on brake peddle. Thing is it might have low kms on it. I think my mother’s corolla is about 7 and has less than 65,000kms on it.

  7. There is more info on this car in this months wheels mag. Looks like TRD is going to do some good things, and the best part (all you TRD bashers) is that Australia is playing a massive part in it. Great for Aussie industries and exports. We might get load of other countries using Aussie components on hot Toyotas/ Lexus cars.
  8. My old apollo had the steering wheel put on slightly wrong. Might be the same probelm you are having.
  9. I suggest you cut your losses ASAP Here is a place you can get a guide of costs for services plug in the numbers and add them up for the next few years. http://www.sydneycitytoyota.com.au/Service...;type=passenger Also think this way, repayments on a new corolla or something might be better off than what you are spending now on fuel, repairs, and you get a warranty and new everything including tyres. Just a thought. Just depends on where you are and what you want to do. But a new one would give you 10 years of happy motoring most likely and when you swap cars over and that sort of thing you loose money. Just remember Buy cheap buy twice. A 10k lemon might cost you motor, gearbox tyres and most importantly time. Cars are a bad investment but that I find getting a new Toyota every 10 years is one of the most economical ways to do it.

  11. how about a beach side BBQ? Or Whitman Park Or Swan Valley
  12. Cheaper to get some slotted rotors at that price and some nice EBC green pads. I had the same problem with my VW , and was cheaper to get new rotors. The thing would stop as well as an STI on a track day at Mt Cotton I went to.
  13. You have to maintain any car to keep it running well. Should be in the service book in the car. Just follw that. And check the services have been done. Keep a spare $1000 and some for insurance. Also check how long the Rego has got to go another $500 odd a year Get quotes form differnet places on what you want done, ask your local area for a good mechanic. Are you getting a 4cyl or a 6 cyl. If budget is a concern check the prices of insurance and rego in your state as 6cyl may cost more to put on the road (+ 10-35% ish more in fuel depending on how you drive and driving conditions)
  14. If you get new springs and shocks it will handle well and be a nice car. Do the radiator fluid and brake fluid if it has not been done. At about 140,000 change the gearbox fluid and give a high pressure clean to flush oout the junk - some special places have this. The camry can do near 300,000kms without a drama on gearbox or motor. Just check they have had service records on them. If you look after the oil changes and fluid changes the car should be fine. Parts are not too expensive.

  18. My Hire Car experience in a Prius. Well I got upgraded to a Prius through Thrifty when I went to Brisbane to help out work there recently. I was well happy with this upgrade as it would give me a chance to check the beast out. At first it was a little unusual to get my head around it. With low speed around the airport it’s a little unusual creeping though on electric once the motor is warm. On the open road it was bloody hard not to speed. Without a conventional automatic and fairly quite mechanical system you loose track of speed. The car is going much faster than you would guess. After a few days I got used to its abilities. I could push the EV button and creep up the road to my mother’s home silently on the electric motor. It was also great at the end of the clogged freeway to drive in stop start driving and see 0.0 liters being used. How is the rest of the car, well it’s not a gimmick car, airbags, ABS and seemed to have stability control (which I found out on a roundabout) . Handling and ride were quite good, a lot better than I would have thought. Brakes were great. I took it up Mt Tambourine and although the fuel on the way up looked startling at over 10 L /100k but you have to remember coming down the mountain it was on 0.0 L and recharging the batteries very nicely. Up the mountain there was a fair amount of go and great handling I found. With the limitations of having my mother in the car so I was not pushing it too far but she admitted her corolla would not go around the coroners as well. Fuel consumption you ask…… just s smidge under 5L per 100k. A few others had a drive and loved it. If I had no car at the moment I would very possibly go for one. The packaging was great loads of room in the back. It’s a real car with great packaging and 5 star crash safety rating. The only downside is the cost and the image. Once people had been in it they loved it too.
  19. Toyota is looking a lot better than earlier in the round. Did you see the hold up of Hamilton from his own team mate in the pits preventing him from doing a final lap for the front of the grid. Might be a chance for some other teams to focus on the race while the Mercedes team fights its internal battles.
  20. Pole Hamilton Team McLaren Drivers Hamilton Massa Fastest Hamilton Thanks Superdave your doing a great job I wonder how Mr Webber will go.
  21. I find having lows with people in tha back and a full boot scrubs the tyres. Pitty the king springs are not a little stiffer. I would advise not going too low or your car will be a pig to use.
  22. Could be the flasher unit I had to change the one in my 1990 camry/apollo for the indicators. Also could be one of the bulbs / conections playing up Check the prices though Holden sold it for $12 for the apollo and Toyota $90. Always ask both of them for part prices as the difference is massive.
  23. I would get something as cheap as possible with airbags and ABS. why because its not what you do but what someone else may do. Airbags possibly saved my life so what is the cost of health. something Japanese is best as more likely to be reliable. The roads are a bit tougher these days - tailgaters aplenty so nothing too plastic. of course if you have zero dollars get the best corolla/camry you can afford
