  1. Doh....!! er..ELECTRIC windows Sorry worked in the trade too long.....
  2. Toyota's website recently got into very big trouble with consumer affairs. They had wrong info on it, said the original Conquest had fast glass, but neglected to mention it was only on the front, there were a few other misleading things there too. You had to go through a "This website is under audit" frontpage before accessing the site for about 4 or 5 months, because of the legal action, so you can bet yr dangly bits they're being extra cautious with info on the site now. The other thing that occured to me was that perhaps the Sportivo is going to be the first to me announced, sort of a flagship model for Corolla..??
  3. It's sort of growing on me, although I do know what you mean. I like the bigger air intake below the # plate, and the shape of the spotlight recesses. I reckon it'd be an easy update to do , looks like it's just new plasticware (bumper etc), anyone have any idea how much a new front bumper unit is for our current 'Rollas to give us some sort of an idea of update cost..???
  4. First pics of the of the new Corolla now filtering thru....... http://www.carkeys.co.uk/news/2004_may/01/2866.asp
  5. Better Starting Piggy Banking those Zlotys guys,,,,,

  7. Yes qslvr, totally weird it does it every time, every station, every pump.... doubles fill up time over the old VR.....
  8. While we're on the subject, does anyone else have problems with filling up the tank..?? I'm finding the pump nozzle is clicking off about six or more times when filling up, as if the tank was full...I've tried everything, adjust the angle, slow fill etc, but it still does it...any clues to a solution..??
  9. Peekay soothe it man, chill out, Orrock was being mindful of the recent warning and respectful to the board by saying that...he's always there to help others here, me included. Lets not be disrespectful to each other, or I and many others'll just not come here anymore, an thats what this board is NOT about.... Cheers mate, Dakkie....
  10. Skitzo, Toyota themselves do a sports muffler for the IZZ-Fe Corolla (yours).. Price is about $280.00, the sound is a fair bit deeper than standard, and it releases an extra 3kw of power, it also has a bigger downturned Chrome tailpipe... SPORTIVO" option PART # PZQ1912021 EXHAUST All HATCHBACK 0110- SPORTS EXHAUST MUFFLER Also fitment shouldn't produce any warranty issues for you...
  11. My understanding is that, if the guy is a fully qualified mechanic, (and you can prove that to Toyota) and will stamp your book, and provide a proper printed invoice you"should"be ok. I think, to provide extra assurance in time of warranty claims, you should always use genuine Toyota parts and filters, and get the mechanic to staple the toyota purchase receipt to the back of his invoice. Even after all this, and being realistic, dont expect to be treated as sympathetically by Toyota or it's dealers, if you dont use them for servicing.
  12. OK here's the big decider, and I mean no disrespect dude but my gf reckons all her friends think the 206 is a best CHICKS car of all time... Anyone driven the new Mazda 3 yet ? the 2.3 looks pretty cool, plus the new BMW 1 series is out soon at a cheap $36k'ish...
  13. I heard Ducati no longer recommend Optimax due to a gelling problem. If the bike is left unused for a few days, the additives can form a very thin jelly in the tank apparently, guess the same would apply to cars too. I changed from Optimax to Mobil 8000 a few months back, and reckon it's a more consistant fuel (optimax seemed to perform differently with each batch) and I'm definately getting better MPG with Mobil 8000, I only use the big busy stations though for fresher fuel, less risk of water and sediment..
  14. I should have added that if U want to transfer the badge from grille to grille..it's an easy job, you've just got to be really patient and use lots of blades to get all the black adhesive off the old one, an use good quality contact adhesive to reattachto the new grille... Did it an felt real proud, cos I'd never earned $83.00 for an hours work before..!! :D :D
  15. If U want the Chrome surround grille (Levin Ultima) it'll cost around $170 from the dealer..the big crunch is the chrome Toyota badge to fit the grille costs an extra $83.00...WTF = big rip! I've got a plain black Conquest grille (less badge) delivery kms only, for $50.00 in Melbourne if U want..
  16. The Melbourne Herald-Sun did a test on it a couple of fridays ago in the motoring section, and they reckoned its a ripper of a drive. Very hard to find anything wrong with it, and bags of character and grunt... Why dont u test drive and tell us yerself ?? p.s $39k !!!...U win Tatts or summit..only jealous ?? :D :D
  17. If YOU alter the gearbox oil composition to other than that recommended by Toyota, and you suffer a gearbox failure, you've probably voided your warranty. I would very strongly suggest that you get the Technician (was he from Toyota, or the Dealership?) to confirm his recommendation in writing, take that to the DEALERSHIP and let them decide what to ..under no circumstances do it yourself. You've a failing gearbox, and they tell YOU to dilute the gearbox oil..?? I cant believe this is a Toyota approved solution to the problem. If you guys are interested, Castrol used to offer an oil analysis service, for about $20.00 theyd provide a container, and a prepaid pack, and would send you back a very comprehensive computer report on the condition of the oil you changed, including metals and dilution rates etc.
  18. Good point Illuminati.. I'm guessing it's a hard wired mod, and especially being tuned as well to suit the chip, you wont be able to get it off, if you have a motor related warranty claim. My mate blew the engine in a work owned '96 Camry (he didn't check the oil), and Frankston Toyota charged $6900.00 for a full rebuild, and this was 5 years ago !! The boss made him pay for it. I'm guessing at up to $10,000 for a full 'tivo rebuild, and if you've tried for a warranty claim and it's rejected, the car will be dismantled in a Toyota workshop, with a rebuild looking at all parts at full retail, and labour at $80.00 per hour.... CAI's and the like are cool 'co at least u can revert to standard before going to the workshop, but chips ...mmm I dunno ?
  19. And the most wicked viscious sounding 2-stroke Diesel ever was the Commer TS3 "Knocker" 3 cylinders, six pistons, and one crankshaft....go figure.. Detroit Diesel had nothin on this baby... hey wots this got to do with 'rollas..??
  20. I know the "chrome surround" grille is $170.00, while the chrome Toyota badge at the top (sold separately) costs $83.00 extra...!! Which badge are you referring to Orrock...??
  21. Has anyone heard a sort of "chuffing" noise like a leaking manifold gasket, when starting up and running from cold...?? (it sounds normal when it warms up).
  22. :D :D :D Sharmz...try it buddy, just wipe duck on yer windows...Quack Quack.. :D :D :D
  23. I find the angles very uncomfortable in the seat/leg/accelerator pedal equation. I seem to have to raise my foot a lot to get it angled to the pedal correctly, and if driving for over an hour I get a sort of a muscle shake in my right leg... Thought it was just me but UK T-Sport owners have been saying the same thing on their board too, seems the seat is too high where your thigh rests. Anyone else notice this...???
  24. Nearly all windows on most cars seem to have a silicone like staining after this very long period of drought...I'd very strongly suggest that if the paintwork isn't stained, (as it's the most vulnerable), your exterior windows'll respond well to (dont laugh) "Duck" for windows, it's worked really well on my old Magna and new 'Rolla... Cheers mate..
