  1. The one thing that stood out here was the new motor fitted due to our old friend "CRACKED OIL PUMP HOUSING "...same as someone here who had a motor rebuild here for the same reason ?? MAP81...you've got a IZZ_FE motor, is the sportivo muffler you've got fitted the one from the ordinary corolla sportivo accessories list..( and if so does it sound much different) or have you somehow fitted one from a 2ZZ-FE Sportivo?
  2. Ahm feelin fer you ZR take it easy mate hope you have a result an support from dudes on th board..
  3. Guys there's a known coolant related fault with current corollas..cant for the life of me remember where I read it, the dealers have TSB's about it..leaking header tanks i think
  4. OK I'll bite.... in my experience Cannon toyota camberwell try really hard to please, and Harris toyota in Berwick try hard to be patronising smart****s..and thats the only thing they did well for me.
  5. Toyota was in BIG trouble legally with misleading info on their website last year, and now again with 'Stivo kw claims... Bet John Conomos is lunching overtime in Canberra to keep the lid on this one. What next..the IZZ-FE doesn't make 100kw ?? driven a few and very unimpressed with the power output on them. Seriously tho I wonder if you guys actually dyno'ing your stivos, and posting results here forced Toyota to finally admit this publically....give yourselves a pat on the back fellas..
  6. Gee thats so bad mate, life plays some rotten tricks sometimes doesn't it, at least you're sort of OK. Whats it like having the airbags go off..?? If anyones out Croydon (Melbourne) way, at New Coolstores Panel Repairs there's a new red 'Rolla on their Chassis straightening jig, right at the very front of the shop...weird to see the engine/box assembly just wheeled away complete on the subframe, but the car looks very light and flimsy on the front chassis with everything stripped out.
  7. Ozeparts range of pattern (no original) parts for our cars is increasing rapidly, prices seem generally up to 40% less than those of original Toyota items... http://www.ozeparts.com.au/
  8. Anyone know if Booster have an Australian agent..?? www.caprizonetuning.com/styling/boostertuning/corolla2002
  9. Seem to remember someone (E-Gene?) saying Orrock could get special short aerials, anyone know anything ,prices etc ? And Kcorro I believe 900 for the boot carpet, I was quoted 360 for a replacement spot light...thats for one!
  10. Now on Toyotas website too.... http://www.corolla.toyota.com.au/Corolla04...793,218,00.html
  11. Apparently the 'tivo on one inch taller rims (16" vs 15" ) ends up one inch LOWER than the levin, thats a net difference of 2"..surely the struts'd HAVE to be the same amount shorter ??? Or am I missing something here..??
  12. Pecker, I think the trick is to warm the paint stick before you use it ( just a bit) otherwise I reckon its too hard to use cold. Once youve got the scratch filled let it cool a bit before gently polishing. I've only used it on solid base colours, I was told it works better on them than metallics.

    Tyre Wear

Sorry to be contoversial, but I've got very strong views on rotation...fronts wear 75% to backs 25% or less, same for brake pads...dont rotate, and renew fronts only at 30% and you'll have 1. a much better, safer driving experience... 2. much cheaper motoring...... Fronts do all the work, always look after them first.... just my view......
  14. If it's just a very small scratch, Turtle Wax do a really good coloured liquid polish, with a coloured wax pencil thing attached for filling in the scratch before polishing, its available in K-Mart for about $18.00 and comes in about eight base colours. It works well I've used it heaps on small scratches.
  15. So IZZ-FE,on a full power right hand turn (say from lights), do the new springs stop the drivers side side back wheel lifting and wavin to the traffic like mine does...???
  16. Er..I'm confused. Toyota actually offer factory lowering springs for the IZZ-FE Corollas, they're in the "Sportivo" range of accessories for the standard "rolla. They were on the website a while ago, and also in the accessory brochure put out by Toyota. A list of IZZ-FE accessories is here if you're interested... http://www.tracy.com.au/Toyota/Accessories...laGenAccess.htm When you say "Cheap" how cheap were they Hames, and as all rollas seem to run the same ride height, I wonder if all model hatch springs are interchangeable??
  17. Well I dips me lid to ya sir..a truly brilliant site, congratulations.
  18. Check the engines/transmissions link for masses of new 'Rolla mods eg ceramic headers !!! Think it's USA only but, ...read and weep guys..!
  19. http://www.corollatoys.com/parts/CorollaTSBs.htm
  20. Mate..so what IZZ-FE problems do you have, and how did they occur?? assuming it's a current model 'Rolla..??
  21. ****, and to think someone posted her that they hit lift as they left the showroom wavin the salesman goodbye........!!!!!!!
  22. The stivo spots are very reasonable ($360 a pair)..my mate was quoted $700 fitted at G Werner Toyota FTG Melb for his 02 ascent..!!! Wonder what the "similar, but fit perfectly" grilles are ???
  23. The bit that stuck out like dogs bits here was the fact that it was the OIL PUMP that failed, the SAME fault that caused Execs motor to seize. I'd say that if you've got a rattly engine get it Dealer appraised, and documented immediately. I wonder exactly how many dealers really do use the proper Synthetic oil, or just sneak in mineral 10w50 same as for normal Corollas.. no one'd ever know would they..??
