I got a gearbox infront of me and was thinkin of u.. With the car inneutral and clutch pedal not pressed, your input shaft in the box is spinning, and when u press your clutch pedal your input shaft stop spinning, is it possible it could be your input shaft bearing??? Cha5e you'd probably know.. Just thinking of anything else rather than thrust bearing.. Edit:: sorry misread :(

45k on a ve is oil, air and remote battery... and those heater hose clamps should of been warranty.. their revised to worm drive clamps, as for the washer bottle, their aposlute *rap.. u fill them to the top, yet the air bleeder is located lower than the neck so it weeps out behind the OSF headlight <_< if its not that the washer bottle neck is leaking, which is a common problem... but yes, $800 for a 80k service without timing belt is expensive... glad mine is a chain :P

sounds like one of the rollers in the spigot bearing has collapsed... ?? as for that gear rollover thats crap, car idles ok? if it what u think it is, a "throw out bearing"/"thrust bearing", box has to come out, id get the manager to get in the car with you and go for a drive.. when it gets written down on the RO the technician looks at it, gets in the car, puts it in his bay, plays with the clutch, and says normal... Its different when the manager hears it in the car with you.. my guess is spigot bearing and thrust bearing.. its noisy cause its not got pressure against it between the fork to the pressure plate, so once u press the clutch in, its got pressure on it, then noise is gone yeah? so when its lose it rattles like a mofo.. get it fixed before warranty goes..
