  1. xoom, the disc is 5 stud yet the wheel is 4 stud??
  2. Get someone to buy a genuine oil filter, change just the filter, leave the oil if you like, and take it under warranty ;) i know it doesnt sound right, but your intitled to get your car fixed even tho its just a harmless oil filter, as soon as my used car warranty expired, im going for a oil change every 5,000km. sorry i work at a dealership, and we see customers do slight tweeks with air filters and engine covers and what not and are refused warranty for that problem..
  3. i take it you have a white stivo lol.. i havn't seen your ride nor pics, but if you go white, they will get dirty real quick.. what colour is your wheels?? perhaps Blue or Yellow.. heat resistant paint??
  4. I'm running without the covers coz I didn't want to drill through them. No problems whatsoever ahh, thankyouuu... no problems with moisture? i gather that cap has a rubber seal on it for a reason? just have to see how we go. well i hardly drive the car anyway, its not even at my house, but its 100% mine looking forward to HID's, i saw them on a 03 stivo on the M4 at 6:05 in the morning, looked wicked.. can't wait :D
  5. depends, u going to do it yourself?? all u need is wire, solering iron, shrink rap, a switch, relay.. if u going to get an auto electrician to do it, depends if your going with the cheap switch or the blinker stalk with the fog switch on it.. u going to get it hooked up to your accessories, or just on/off feature.. me personly i would find the wiring diagram for the foglights, buy the blinker stalk, hook it up to parker switch so foggies will only turn on when parkers are on.. relay it all up, and make it professional.. id estimate an auto electrician might do it for 100 or something if u provide the fogs and blinker stalk? pays for labour, wiring, installation of fogs etcetc..? thats just a guess man, sorry.. * in the past ive done something similar, on my falcon i had those bonnet washer jet LED's, i hooked it up to my parkers and a relay.. so when i turned my parkers on those turn on, but a seperate switch to turn the LED's off incase of cops as their elligal. good luck
  6. i have no clue where the oil filters are located on these engines, but when its changed does the old oil run somewhere? did he wash the engine bay?? could he may of d/c a vacuum hose accidentally while doing this service?? is warranty covered if you dont get it serviced by toyota? maybe if u get it under warranty best not say u carried out an oil change?
  7. Just purchased 6K HID's for the stivo, will post when recieve + install item. Was i wrong when i read HID's are rubbish in the rain :o ? so since i got the 05 i got the hard cover? so drilling will be required? wont that cause moisture to go into the headlight assembly??
  8. Spotted a stivo this morning, on the M4 Eastbound, had HID's on and foggy's. I spose they would as it was 6:08am.. rego BBA-20V
  9. one day ill have to do a clutch, and when i do im glad i got a hoist at work, just take a RDO, drive mi car in, drop the box and in goes the new one.. hard to do it in the driveway, best if u can stand under the car, get the torque corrects and so forth..
  10. That's the ISCV I was talking about. oooohhhhh sorry my bad tiet, just grap some carby cleaner from super cheap, $13, take the throttle body off and get an old tooth brush and go for it
  11. Sup Anthony.. First i was at tafe today so i asked my teacher about idling funny.. he said is it electric throttle body, i said no its cable.. he then asked what car, i said toyota.. he then went on saying toyota idle slightly higher at cold start to warm it up, then goes to normal reving, if it pulses after warmed up it can be that your stepper motor in the throttle body ( stepper/idler motor that controls this high reving on cold start ups ) is dirty or possibly faulty.. make sense?? laters-Daniel
  12. Hey Tiet, hows it going man?? With ya car prob's, hows the condition of your throttle body?? Also can you hear any vacuum leaks? say when u turn the car off does it go shhh... or while the car is running..?? all vacuum hoses tight? Hows ya air filter? blocked.. ??

  14. Good Evening. I was driving today, in the mountain side, dropped down to first as it was a pretty tight turn, took it slow.. hit lift to go up the hill, changed to second, about 5,500rpm i heard what was like a bang well into second gear, second time ive heard this.. there was abit of wheel spin.. in the wet i know the car seems o 'hop' when it gets wheel spin.. when i drive easy, (gear changes recommended by the owners manual) its beautiful.. do you's think that knock was just the car 'hoping'? in the dry?? or an engine mount or something? Im going to take the car to work tomorrow and put it up in the air, and check it out.. it is under warranty..
  15. If your going to change the fluid, check the condition of the fluid, for metal shavings and discolouration. If your going for a fluid change, check if you got any air in your clutch system aswell, just bleed it again, who knows maybee your clutch isn't pressing the pressure plate hard enough to dis-engage the clutch plate and thus ( as if im not putting the clutch pedal in ) . Id go for them 2 options first, if that doesn't fix it, maybe its the syncro as you think.. Sorry only apprentice knowledge, if i knew more id suggest.
  16. haha brad actually it is. and yeah its a smooth ride, as soon as lift kicks in the wheels just pretty much spin, good tread on em too.. hehehe yea man i went to take a look at it. but i ended up waiting and going all the way to brissy to buy mine!!!!!! do you live close to brooky or more out west? good luck with the car. brad im in Penrith, outer west.. used to be inner west near tiet.. and yeah tiet its at Pauls house..
