  6. Bring it around to my house and ill check if its the exact same noise mine had... If it is you can take it to the dealer and tell them its the drive belt tensioner and have it fixed.... it is NOT normal.. and can possibly be causing damage ← Dude... I work in preston...finish at 5pm... where do ya live??? pm me your address?
  7. I've had this SOUND since i bought my car! 05 stivo! just over 2 mths old! i asked the dealer and they said its normal! How do i Fix it????? what do i say to em????
  8. Hey there! the pic u got up...is that the Stivo from Lemans Toyota? if so i had a test drive of that....but decided to go brand new 05 instead... anyhoo...that red stivo is a sweet one!! good BUY!!! where in melb are you from? ← Hiya! By the way...I did not get your name.... LOL yea...it is the one from Lemans Toyota. Oh no, don't tell me there's something wrong with it that made you buy a new one instead??? Care to tell me why you bought a new one instead? Well, for me, I thought if I buy a new one....it will immediately depreciate, so I thought...what the heck, just buy a near new one and at a better price (which I squeezed it out of the dealer..heh heh). Actually, I wanted to get a Celica but saw the condition of that car and said....NO WAY! So, I spotted the Sportivo and checked it inside out and test drive it....seems to be in excellent condition. So there you go...the long and short of my car purchase history. LOL So, which part of Melbourne do you hail from? :) Kelvin ← Khuong's my name.... LoL dude....nothing wrong with the car...was in good condition....Just wanted a new car thass why...when i went to enquire about the new car...they assumed i was there to check out the used one...so i thought why not test it...after the test i told them i wanted new not used...LOL...anyways...i liked the look of the Face lift model as well and the 6 disc MP3 player....and the price they wanted for you car ....pfft.... i was better off getting a new car. How much did you end up paying for it? from memory...they wanted $24000.... I'm from Mill Park dude...where are you?

  10. How sure are you on this? FYI i have the 2005 Sportivo (face-lift model) The manual actually states they are H11? I'm looking to change mine but cannot find H11's in white! ← i've had HB3's in mine, work fine. Reason why i didn't get H11s was the same as yours. They are around, but difficult to find~ But yes, you're correct... h11's for front fogs... h3's are actually for high beam (facelift models) ← Sweet....I'll get HB3's then if you are telling me they fit.... in regards to Highbeams...they aren't H7's as the toyota manual states?? H3's you say? ← check with wherever ur getting the globes to be sure. i have a facelift levin, but pretty sure same thing. The facelift highbeams are HB3's... doesn't the manual state HB3? H7 are for Low beams, ← According to my Owners Manual, Low Beam = H7----> we both clear on this High Beam = H7 ---> your telling me H3's? Fog Lights = H11---> you say HB3 Can you please have a look at your owners manual and confirm that it is saying the same thing? If it is, and your telling me different sizes.... then it is massive error.

  12. 1ZZ ECU's and 2ZZ ECU's do not have a PROM which can be simply desoldered and read. The actual Engine management Program is embedded into the main Processor of the ECU. On early toyota's in order to modify the ecu internally you needed to desolder the Processor, add a ROM Board. Now this rom board would only work if you had a base program. It is also similar to Mazda ECU's as well. The link you pasted actually has the guy doing this on an early style DENSO ECU. In regards to putting a resistor mod onto the Air Temp Sensor....you are correct in saying it will make the ECU read maps....however this will not have any effect on the ignition timing on the car....if anything it will adjust air/fuel ratios.

  14. Agreed Agreed Has anyone used the Meguiar's whipes??? I'm thinking of trying then out to see the results, I hear they are really fast to use and no mess :) ← wipes are good for the area's with the holes on your seats..... cos if u use the bottle....you get exccess stuff in the holes and it doesn't wipe off that easy and you'll have white dots on your seats... I learnt the hard way :(
  15. My car only 1 mth old. Best bling bling? lol... my 2 day old Sportivo Pedals.. Previous to that was a box of tissues...now...before anyone jumps to conclusions of why i have a box of tissues in my car....reason is i had a cold when i bought my car lol.
  16. Bloody hell! those pedals are at a good price over there in the west! i got quoted from a couple dealers here in melbourne! one was $150+ ex GST... and the other was $136 Inc GST.... I ended up paying $122...Trade price....Free fitting cos the service manager is a friend of mine.... in regards to service cost....very interesting figures....sounds very promising....My last car "2000 Holden Vectra" destroyed my bank balance after every service! looking back over my service reciepts...it averaged out to be $250+ each service! and thats not including the major services! also...after the 3 years warranty was up...the parts cost and labour...Phwaoor! lets just say the last 2 years owning that car was a nightmare!
  17. Well....i drive to work via a certain route every day and there are a few speed humps on the way as well....i usually clutch over the hump, switch to 2nd and release the clutch when exiting the hump as the speed slightly picks up in the way out of the hump..... give that a go...might help....
  18. Ez you Malaka, I've got em.... if ur wondering who i am its khuong!
  19. LoL...i hear you guys talk about a girl that was there? from the photo's i counted 2....is that all there was? Now...in regards to the one you guys are all refering too...she hot?
  20. True that!...Thats why we all pay full comp insurance (well...i assume everyone is)
  21. *** dammit! Sounded like ultra fun! Can't believe i blardy missed it! Was gonna come but had a massive friday night!
  22. As for that noise, the tech guy said it sounds similar to the gear selector cable noise (I haven't heard this noise before so I can't comment on whether it sounds similar or not) so they'll replace the gear selector cable to the latest spec. According to him, Toyota Australia tried out three different types of gear selector cables to select one that doesn't make the noise. However, he did say that there's no guarantee that it will make the noise go away. I think it's just another characteristics of the car, which I didn't accept in the beginning but now I don't mind it that much. ← yeah, well...if my problem is the gear select cables...and if nothing can be done..i guess i need to turn up the stereo! ;) Let's see what the service guys have to say at the 1st service....
  23. thanks for your input coladuna and rollamods....the sound at idle is not of much concern and is intermittant. I would like to sort that "grinding" "spraying" "loose chain" etc etc noise during acceleration sorted out...
  24. Did you have your A/C on?? ← Nope...A/c off....Fans off....wierd...car booked in for service next thursday...
  25. I think you got the gear cable noise everyone has, we gt a recall doen on that but it comes back after a while.. There is a DIY method to fix it though by using cable ties but i was told by Toyota it is not recommended (funny enough the diy method was done by toyota) so i have just gotten used to the sound now.. And how many km/s u got on your car being 2 1/2 weeks old? The stock Stivo clutch is not worth a mention imo, although i blame poor installation for the problems. Z ← i've done 1300km's...averaging just under 500km's per week.... the sound is annoying...i'll get toyota to fix the noise at the 1st service...other then that the car is sweet... I've noticed today that there is a tapping noice from the engine bay at idle...funny enough when you clutch it...the sound goes away... ever heard of this before???
