  1. Yeah I guess, it might not be so 'in-your-face' on a darker car..
  2. Hey Charlie, Shoots look awesome! You guys have more modified ZRE's up there than down here in Melbourne. :) Did you install the CAI yourself? If yes, is there anything like a screw or bolt holding the stock piping at the very bottom? Cheers, Peter.
  3. Looks sick as!!! Very clean look! Headlights definitely make the car stand out from the crowd! Maybe Kev0 and shin0bi should do the black headlight mod too... hint hint :P
  4. Looking good mate!! I thought you were going to say you got pink ones..until I scrolled down :P I'm going to go to a few shops and ask for quotes for tanabe's (when I am free from exams that is). And got to ask Jesse about those rear rubber mounts not fitting or something..
  5. Teaser! Had an awesome day and thanks to Tash for organising a nice cruise, especially that rally stage. Loved it because that's only where my car had an advantage! Hehe Nice to see Guan is back on the scene. Seriously, him and his tools.. mechanic on wheels! Thanks to you, I love reving and holding the gears longer now..Haha We were about to take a photo of you doing the "fully-sick-short-guy-in-s15-driving-position" but you exit the freeway :P
  6. Orsam Indicators (with help from Vinh and Jayson) Pictures of debadging..back and sides
  7. Same as what I was thinking, might as well get 98. Thinking it wasn't worth it. Thanks to you, I did! :D Didn't know that! :) So in summary, octane booster is kind of a scam.
  8. Yep, I'm coming and so is my friend! =). See you guys there!!
  9. As title states, friend bought this topic up and I am thinking if an octane booster/additive would do any significant gain, say for a ZRE or corollas in general? I know it increases the octane number and supposedly it "makes the car more efficient and uses less fuel". I know like additives used to clean fuel injectors or the carby can be beneficial to use..but what about octane boosters? Any comments? Cheers, Peter.
  10. change for harder springs/shocks or coilovers, and then yours won't handle like one yo! :D
  11. 9am today, on Blackburn Road heading Springvale direction. Older model red MR2 with two grey racing strips down the middle with silver 18's. Are you on this forum, car looks sick.
  12. Looking forward to this!!! Wooo a few more days!! Apparently, weather is alright, morning showers only.. Btw Tash, I got a friend to come along (should be), he just bought a sportivo off one of the guys here a month or two back. :D
  13. Yeah, only seen your colour twice. I've seen heaps of white, but only another 3 that's a ZR. Hence, the more reason to mod and look different. Haha Thanks mate. Which will look more jdm? Black or bronze? :) Don't worry mate, you'll be one of the first to know if I have any. ;)
  14. John, where's the first white zre from? You've been posting it quite a bit. :) It's convincing me to get black 18's..hehe
  15. Hey guys, just thought I make a page for my ZRE, potential mods coming up! Hehe Quick story, ordered it at the end of Feb 09 and got it a month later. Had to go with white (which I don't regret now, I love it!). If I wanted silver, I had to wait about 3 months for one from Japan. I was fortunate enough that there was a manual ZR in production and shotgunned it! :D Haven't really done any "mods" so far ahaha, will update below as I go: Exterior: - White T10 SMD LED Parkers - White 4300k HID Lows (Stock) - Yellow 3000k HID Fog Lights - Debadged (VVT-i,Toyota,SECA) - Osram Diamdem Blue Tinge Indicators - Toyota JDM Corolla Bonnet Protector - Toyota JDM Corolla Headlight Protector - Toyota JDM Corolla Slim Door Visors/Weathershields - Toyota JDM Short/Stubby Antenna - Black Tinted Windows - Colour-code Front Lip (Pending) - Modellista Front Black Garnish - Genuine Netz Badge Interior: - Toyota Corolla Floor Mats - Toyota Corolla ZR Dash Mat - Toyota Corolla Boot Liner - Custom Orange Footwell Lights (Pending Installation) - Eclipse AVN726EA Headunit (Reverse Camera Pending) - Fire Extinguisher Engine: - De-snorkel'd Stock Airbox - Dyno'd (for kicks) - Injen Cold Air Intake - Injen Pod Filter - 3A Racing Pod Filter - Injen HydroShield - Genuine Toyota Radiator Coolant - Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil 5W-50 - Castrol Edge Sport Fully Synthetic Engine Oil 5W-30 Suspension & Handling: - King Springs Lows - Evolution IX Enkei Wheels 17x8 +38 (Powdercoated Satin Black) - Evolution IX Wheel Nuts - McGard Wheel Lock Nuts - Toyo T1R's (225/45R17) - BC Racing V1 Series Coilovers - Cusco Rear Sway Bar - Cusco Front Strut Brace Potential Mods: - C-One Strut Bar - C-One Wingtips (Black) - Cusco Rear Sway Bar - TRD Sportivo Suspension/Tanabe Coilovers - Tinting - Toyota Black Rear & Front Emblems - Toyota JDM Slimline Window Visors - TRD Front Garnish - Black Headlight Mod - Black Mirror Covers - Black Replacement Plates - Paint Brake Calipers Black - Slotted DBA Brakes - Colour-Coded Front Plastic Lip - HID or SMD LED foggies - White T10 SMD LED For Licence Plate - Orsam Indicators - Toyota JDM Short Antenna - 17x7 Work Emotion 11r's (black or bronze) - Full custom exhaust with headers & twin-tip - CAI (maybe down the track) - Eclipse AVN726EA - Focal Polyglass 165VRS Front Splits - Focal Polyglass 130CVX Rear Speakers - Focal SOLID4 Four Channel Amplifier Peter.
  16. You can or ask someone to photoshop them on. You'd get some idea of what it would look like. :)
  17. 1. What are some of the best fuel scores people have got? (ltrs/100kms) 7.3L/100km (driving to Phillip Island). Average of 8L/100km (mixed) over total life of car so far. 2. Do you ever use 6th gear? Yes, when I'm going on a flat section of road above 70kmh 3. Is the "drive-by-wire" slow to respond?, and did it take some getting used too? Like what the others said, weird at first but then you get accustomed to it so you know how to do it quick. =) 4. Is it worth getting a front strut tower brace? If so, which one and how much? Don't have one, but from Vinh, Thomas (shin0bi) and jstkill, it's worth it. Ask Vinh. 5. If you get your car serviced at toyota, is it really worth it? and do they also try to slip in something in that isn't on the list? Didn't service my car at Toyota. Just gave to my mechanic and a bottle of Mobil 1. (Oil they use isn't that smooth) 6. Finally, are you happy with your purchase? Any little things that have been painful? Totally happy. Love the keyless entry and start button! If you want to make it look better, got to lower it!! Peter.
  18. They are better. RHS is really easy, 1min job. But the left..is a pain haha. I just got 1SMD white ones in mine and they are decent brightness.
  19. John, that's lucky as!! As for lowering, it seems I'm back to the drawing table to decide.. :( Found out TRD springs and shocks will roughly cost the same as Tanabe coilovers..and not sure what to do (again).
  20. Yeah, don't want any trouble do we? Plus, we don't know how much traffic there will be on that day..taking it easy, windows down, enjoying the scenery and snap photos here and there for sure. :D Oh no..tell us how it goes! Hopefully you can make it to this one! :)
  21. I know, can't for the hot sunny weather, driving along the beach at night with the windows down, music pumping! I think just lock that in! It's getting close.
  22. Me and some of the ZRE guys are keen to drive this route. Not sure about them but I think I'll go, even though I should be studying for my exams in that time period. and thanks Tash for organising, looks like it will be a good drive!! :D Peter.
  23. Yeah Peter my head is still spinning, cant decide what i want to do If i could get Tanabe for BC price i'd get them now.. My latest purchase is this, Modellista spoiler pre-painted but not fitted yet and may not get fitted either..I'll try get a pic of it trial fitted. As for price, lets just say i could've bought coilovers I think I'll just get the TRD springs and shocks. Saw Vinh and the other boys the other night. Even though it says it's only a 25mm drop, it actually looks lower. It roughly looks like your height, and for some reason at the back, it looks lower than Thomas' drop at his back. So I'm considering TRD springs and shocks, then some 17/18's work emotion 11r's in black/bronze. Don't know to go 17 or 18's John, I think the other boys could've bought coilovers by now too! Haha Agreed.
  24. I am considering tanabe's as for $1500, it's only $300 more than TRD springs and shocks. But saying that, King Lows may be sufficient? I am just afraid down the road if I want to slightly adjust the height (like you John), I will not be able to. Hmmmmm Peter.
  25. How's the ride? Firm or really firm? How big was the drop? And was the height drop adjustable? Sorry for all the questions, I'm considering getting these..haha thanks. Peter.
