  1. CAN YOU HELP? There have been many threads on this subject but I've yet to find one with specific info: For type of finish. IE:- Clear coated and or raw polished alloy. If for instance an abrasive cleaner such as Silvo or some of the abrasive products designed for polished alloy were used on clear coated surfaces, good-by clear coat! Specific info: on products for either of these could be appreciated by many members.

what ever happened to the humble sponge with soap? wash them regularly and you wont have any problems. my brother used to have an 04 golf sport, he used alloy cleaner all the time and after a while his wheel hubs rusted cause it took of the clear coat, and it ruined his centre caps.

  5. hey guys

i own a 2000 camry touring v6 and it love to drink petrol.

i have a new v6 engine cause my other one shot a piston due to running it on gas all the time, anyways my car will only do 450km out of a 65L tank. i have new tyres and the car is serviced every 3 months. i have a pod filter running not the original air box could that me my problem, my mechanic removed the gas for me before putting in the new engine, also when i fill up the car it smells like petrol and when the tank is half full or below the car smells like petrol as well.

    any help please

    cheers jacob

thats not bad economy really. i get about the same from my v6 camry, all depends on how happy your right foot is i guess. give us a bit more detail about the petrol smell, cause generally when your filling up the car you will smell the fumes, or by this do you mean inside the car?

the smell of petrol is inside the car, my mechanic told me that could be the reason why, my car isnt drinking but losing petrol.

hmm, maybe have a look at the seal around the pump...? which is under the back seat. im not too sure to be honest, but like i said my car gets the same mileage as you.

  7. Yes :)

I think its the same for the 2.4 and the 3.0 but someone else can confirm that for me.

    Here is one on Ebay:

or you can go to some auto places like supercheap and they can order it in for you for aorund the same price from memmory.

    Hope that helps

  8. Firstly O-rings from Toyota is $5 each. I was asking about them before my supra injectors install. Are you taking the actual lower intake manifold off? You'll need to get new gaskets for them if you do and they are $45 each and you need 2. While you are down there tho, you might as well change the coolant bypass hose unless you like purchasing lots new gaskets.

Getting injectors cleaned is a very good idea as they do get dirty. They replace the o-rings for you too. It's not that expensive either, about $30 per injector.

thanks for the reply, what do you mean by changing the coolant bypass hose? and by the way im a bit short on cash at the moment but i do hope to get my injectors cleaned and pressure tested in the near future.

  9. Today i finished putting my engine back together after fixing my injector o-rings, and giving the intake manifold a well earn't cleaning. Took off all my wheels, cleaned them inside out and gave them a good polish (even if they are steelies). I also cleaned inside the guards.

Then this arvo I finished installing my new sound system, sounds sooo good haha. I washed, clayed and waxed it yesterday but realised i missed a spot and got carried away...ended up waxing the whole car and vacuuming it again, even though it hasnt moved in the last 48 hours.

  10. So i was very bored today and decided that because im going through a cleaning phase on my car, that i would clean the upper and lower intake manifold. Those of you who know the 1MZ know that the fuel rails are connected to the lower section (this stopped me cleaning before) but not this time. In the process of taking them out, i have broken on of the O-ring seals so i subsequently have to buy a new one, my dad suggested that i buy all 6 while i have the engine in peices anyway. <_<

I have a couple of questions for anyone who can help:

    - If i just go to an auto store like; supercheap, auto1 will they have the kit? and how much roughly?

    - is it worth me going to a wrecker and just buying second hand injectors of an engine with less kilometers?

    - Do i have the option of putting bigger injectors ie: 2jz, 3mz? will it give me any power gains?

Thanks heaps in advance, oh an for those who are interested i will soon make a post in the 'Member Ride' section with my build so far and pictures of what i get up to when im bored :P

  11. thanks for the link. i have seen these two on ebay, what i really want is wheels in "As New" condition.

    i know i need a lot luck.

keep your a watch on ebay, about a month ago a pair in mint condition with brand new tyres went for about $400 if i remember correctly. all good things come to those who wait :P

  12. What's your stock tire size on your Camry at the moment? Plug the figures into the following calculator to determine whether you will need to change the tires or not when you get it. I suspect you would have to:

1010 Tires - Tire Size Calculator

Apart from that, see if you can find what offset the wheels are. This will basically determine whether they will fit or not because the PCD is fine.

thanks heaps. could i assume that the offset of the new rims is stock for the lexus? that way i could just check it in google...do you know what my offest is?

  13. Hey guy, I have a sale pending for some wheels that were originally on a Lexus SC400 (soarer), however they are not the stock rims

they have the same stud pattern obviously 5 x 114.3, tires are 235/45R17

I need to know weather these will fit on my gen 4 camry or not?

Like it says in the subheading, speedy response would be much appreciated as i have the seller waiting to hear from me
