  1. why, you would get better usable power from stroking the engine to 1.93L and once you do that you can kiss 10,000rpm goodbye because there is no way the engine would hold together at those speeds with the longer stroke. It would just barely make it (if at all) on the standard stroke. Thats what i was getting at as well dyl.. U can raise it slightly but there is no point and it is very fragile.
  2. not sure about your posts mate thats a bit strange. But maybe your silver membership ran out? I dunno pm steve he'll tell u all the answers.
  3. No point bill, it won't make more power than a tuned n/a revving to 8k rpm. Not to mention how highly strung and breakable a 10k one would be
  4. Fine, i'll bring my car up to Sydney and i will put $1000 on the fact that you wont be able to shift from 1-2 and land in lift. Many more variables than the driver, the one in my case is the clutch. It physically wont let you into 2nd without the syncros going wild. And to everyone, yes im sure the clutch adjustment would fix it, but i've got other ways to fix it.
  5. Bills car before the turbo with all the internal bits and pieces made less power than standard, only difference being he was running slightly lower compression.
  6. anything is possible. But 100x better to just buy a auto car
  7. seems like a lot of money for 15kw. And u can buy all those parts already not from trd
  8. I already got 1 cob. Oi pm me your mobile number so we can organise tomorrow
  9. at the hillclimb there was a john cooper works edition Cooper S and it was doing the same times as my sportivo, except the Cooper had some suspension mods. So i guess they are a reasonable handler.
  10. as far as i see it, the sportivo is easily faster, looks better and is half the price. What more to know?
  11. also northy can u post the pictures of your engine in here? Not even u abused your car this much.
  12. i can assure u if u keep abusing your car it won't last forever. As for the lsd u will need to bring one in from overseas. My choice would be the Kaaz, which u can order through meridian motorsport in vic. Otherwise forum sponsor Nextmod could source u a trd lsd which is what i will be running shortly.
  13. yeah blokeasaurus i just forgot about it. Sorry cob. We'll get that motherfcker to fit. But i still don't reckon that could pleasure miss hilton.
  14. How does Satdy sound cob? Rob u wanna come along and polish my car? Like u said u would? Simo can help. hahahaha
  15. i wish it hit the limiter it was bouncing between 4000rpm and 5000rpm didn't go over 5 i remember its spining me out it only cuts out like that when i take off .... dont have a clue what it is ..... Perhaps thats just your car telling u that it doesn't really like that kind of torture. And CAP, I reckon only 1 shaft would be damaged cos only 1 wheel was really spinning til it started driving away.
  16. gimme a call next time you need to finish off your tyres cos i will bring the tools my old man created to pull the gears off the output shaft in the C64 gearbox.... not that you will need any help because they will be sitting on the ground in a pool of hot oil.... failing that, I can sell you a spare gearbox if you would like - optional with an LSD??? TRD or Kaaz?
  17. i'm more interested in finding a brake kit that doesn't require spacers cos i don't wanna ruin the suspension set up of the car.
  18. hey mate, i still don't understand what u are trying to achieve. More power of better fuel economy? Because it seems like u are trying to get both, but unfortunately they don't come hand in hand. Its like a sliding scale - more power, less economy. Less power, more economy. Whats the intent of all this work? As for advancing the ignition timing, u will need an aftermarket or piggyback computer to do the work, big dollars there.
  19. rob was right it does make the car look like its fake... Like one of those stupid dub cars u get from toyshops. 19's just look stupid they are way way too big. That ride quality and handling must be non existant. So where's the photo's of the 20's then?
  20. easiest way? Angle grinder around 4 edges of bonnet, remove skeleton of bonnet from skin, pop the clips out from the inside. With out breaking the bonnet, i dunno. With a flat head screwdriver, but really gently and carefully.
  21. i was in sydney over the weekend, spotted a fair few rollas but most were stock standard, probably rentals! However 2 of note were... At the sydney harbour marriott hotel, sat 6th - sweet looking black sportivo, chrome wheels and rear skirt. Plates were something like QT-001 i think. It looked sweet though. I think i freaked out the owner though, cos i was walking past, my car was underneath the building, i walked over real close and checked the car out cos it looked good and i got dodgy looks... Not sure if it was the owner or not though. At penrith plaza sun 7 - white 1zz, with clear taillights and a cannon. Plates were KRI... Anyone here?
  22. be careful with the clips on the bonnet insulation. They cost a couple of dollars each. Not worth it at all.
  23. come on guys who's keen? If we can get a group of tocau cars that will be awesome. Come on...
