  1. Can't put in an informed vote if I haven't seen the facelifted version, can I?
  2. Post it here: Spotted
  3. It was Peter Davey's Port Rd service area was talking about - I've never actually noticed their Main North Rd workshop. I may give them a go next time... I paid $156 for my 20,000 km/12 month service.
  4. Should be less so than stock - check your vacuum hoses are right...
  5. Thanks but it was nothing really, all I did was post the URL where I found it. Thanks should really go to the dude who is hosting it.
  6. Welcome - I wish more of the Adelaide owners would pipe up. It gets lonely cruising by yourself... Anyway, I bought the car from and use Northpoint for service. They are great if you ignore miscellaneous charges for fluids that they don't actually use. I almost went to Peter Davey on Port Rd for my last service, but chickened out the day before as their service bay was smaller than my garden shed and lacked the look or professionalism. Haven't used anyone else so can't comment sorry.
  7. It's not leaking from around the radiator cap, but around the top of the overflow tank. As far as I can guess, a higher pressure cap would just cause more leakage by raising the pressure in the whole system.
  8. Hmmm, gears are still crunching on shift from 1st to 2nd and stiff from 2nd to 3rd. Grrrrr
  9. Here are pics - Danthuyer's is 1st
  10. I know it's not a lot, but it ****s me that it leaks AT ALL and the dealer won't fix it...
  11. For the last two services, I have complained to Toyota of the build up of crusty pink coolant residue all the way around the radiator tank - the one at the top of the radiator with the clear back to check fluid level. Over 6 months the level went down in this tank by about 3-4 cm. They came back yesterday to say that Toyota's recommendation is to clean off the "corrosion", and that even if they replaced it under warranty that it would probably just leak again. So my question is, how many others have this problem? Why are we losing coolant for no good reason and has anyone been able to get Toyota to fix it?
  12. You reckon that's true? The bottle is behind the bodywork, like the resonator bottle on the intake side. At the very least you would need to get the splashguard off from the right front of the vehicle, then you can pull the hose off the washer motor. Or you can remove the black funnel and siphon out some fluid. Either way, sounds like they would be doing more work than would justify the $1 charge...? Whatever, I still reckon it's shonky.
  13. And you didn't complain? I guess it's easy to understand how the dealers make all their money from service, and none (or even losses) from car sales.
  14. Probably old news now and I seem to be the last to have had it done, but at my 12 month service they replaced the gear cables and knob, also adjusted the clutch. Not much difference in pedal feel, but gear change is much improved (still wouldn't say it's perfect, but definitely better than before). Best of all, no more rattles!
  15. Eibach's arrived, as did my Whiteline rear sway and camber kit. Next step - better handling and lowness!!
  16. Last winter I picked up my car from the 6 month/10,000km service, and because it was raining I noticed my windscreen washer bottle was empty. But the dealer had charged me 90 cents for detergent washer fluid on the service invoice. Because I couldn't be bothered at the time to return, I let it slide. Then yesterday I had my car serviced again (12 month/20,000km) but to prevent the same thing happening I had previously filled the washer bottle to the top at home. So imagine my surprise when the same 90 cent charge reared it's ugly head again. The guy at the service desk of my nameless dealer was mightily embarassed to be caught out, and promptly refunded my $1 (including GST). He also promised to "raise the issue" with whoever. My problem is two-fold: 1) Whoever actually serviced the car was clearly too stupid to actually check the fluid level, and decided to try and charge me for products they didn't use 2) Perhaps more worryingly, I started to think about what other services or products they are charging me for that they are not actually providing. For example, I was told the $6 "Miscellaneous" charge on the invoice was to cover grease or other lubricants, but are they really putting $6 of **** on my car every 6 months??? Anyway, thought I'd just post and see people's thoughts. I intend to call the service manager when I calm down to follow up on the issue and I also can't wait until Toyota send me their next Customer Satisfaction questionnaire
  17. I guess you can always go for rides in Craig's...
  18. Welcome to the forum Dennis. I'm not sure about 1ZZ-FE parts, but I'm sure there will be lots of opinions posted here soon. One thing I am sure that everyone will recommend, is putting the Unichip on last, to maximise your benefit from all other intake and exhaust mods. Good luck!
  19. Found this whilst surfing: Offical Toyota 2004 Corolla Service Manual Note: It's a 29Mb zip file but has PDF's for every part of the car. It's very comprehensive, but doesn't appear to cover the Sportivo, only 1ZZ-FE models. I'm now trying to see if there's a Sportivo manual out there...
  20. Oh yeah, and don't trust the weather in Melbourne. :P
  21. Ordered my Eibach's and should arrive this week - $620.
  22. Big 4-0 hey dude? Congrats.
  23. Repco quoted me $150 for the rear sway bar (althought apparently that was the wrong part no.), $70 for the camber kit and $12 for freight. They also said the parts are non-returnable as they are custom built for each order. I think I'll call Whiteline directly and see what they'll charge....
  24. I'll be driving to Melbourne from Avalon in the arvo on Saturday March 19. I'm keen to meet up with other Stivo's then... From memory, Cougs was going to cruise with me.
  25. Thanks, did you install the camber bolts and rear sway bar yourself?
