  1. Name a place & time! I'll be out Sat night with some friends in VR4's, probably cruise Anzac H'way from the city to the Bay. Haven't decided yet whether or not to take my car too.
  2. You need to paint your brake calipers. :D
  3. Now we're talking Hodgie, I live up that way (around TTP). My car's silver though. I also spotted and gave the thumbs up to a red stivo, tinted windows yesterday on Park Tce, was that one of you guys heading home from work? So that's at least 3 SA Stivos that we can organise a meet/cruise for!
  4. Organ, I'm often down at the bay on Sat nights. What say we organise a meet sometime?
  5. That's not a drag race - if you want a 2mb wmv file of the most outrageous drag race ever, then I need either someone to host the file or your email address...
  6. Check this out 1ZZ boys - MWR Toyota 1ZZ-FE Big Bore Kit http://monkeywrenchracing.com/mwr_toyota_1...g_bore_kit.html This is the kit you've been waiting for! It includes the cast nodular iron sleeves and forged pistons required to punch your stock 1.8L 1ZZ-FE engine out to an 82.0mm bore (Just under 2.0L), increasing power and torque across the entire rev range. The sleeves are extremely strong and will allow your engine to more comfortably handle large amounts of boost or nitrous. Wiseco forged alloy pistons (including high performance rings and pins) are included with the kit in your choice of compression ratio. Choose 8.8:1 units to suit supercharged or turbocharged applications; choose 11.0:1 for increased naturally aspirated power. These pistons will work with stock rods, but Crower rods are strongly recommended for engines that will see nitrous use or boost pressure. Your block will need to be machined to allow installation of these sleeves- consult your local engine machine shop for labor costs. Available now.
  7. The comparisons have been posted before, try the forum search tool: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?act=Search&f=4
  8. That would be censorship, and I don't like fascism. In fact, I don't believe in any isms, I just believe in me. But anyaway, in any group there is going to be a spectrum from responsible, law-abiding owners through to the completely immature, irresponsible and dangerous. This does not depend on the make or model of car driven, and any reasonably intelligent person (or corporation) will have to acknowledge this.
  9. There's a clio getting around Adelaide with a plate starting with RCT... Yep, it's a Renault Clio Turbo, and I saw it hose off an R33 Skyline.
  10. I'd like to move mine to where my CAI pickup is, so I can monitor intake air temperature.
  11. I painted my hubs, had to mask the entire rotor surface - but it turned out nicely. You can see it in the pics I posted in that previous thread. It took one can of VHT caliper paint to do the front, with plenty of coats. It might take two to do both front and back.
  12. Not sure, but let me be the first to say welcome to the forum!
  13. The question should be, has an Australian delivered engine been dynoed? The 141kw figure is at the flywheel, so as above - dynoing at the wheels won't tell you anything about the flywheel figure, unless you know the exact powertrain loss. I'm not aware of any Australian chassis dyno figures, but if it exists Xoom or one of you other "info wizards" are sure to find it...
  14. That would be all the excuse I'd need to order a TRD LSD...
  15. Your reaction time was 0.56 sec slower, so if you'd launched at the same time, with the same gear changes, you could have run about 15.2 secs!! With practice, you might get into the 14's. Well done!
  16. Good work, and check out the big rally spotlights. Wonder if they're legal?
  17. You sure it's not "tighten them 'til you can't turn them anymore"? Maybe I should buy me a torque wrench....
  18. That bonnet is quite sexy, as the scoop is not over the top. And with no driving lights, that would be sucking pure cold air if it's got a CAI....
  19. This is a pic of the TRD-sponsored Class B (2wd) All-Japan Rally Championship entrant:
  20. I know, my car is a different beast now. Thanks for your help!
  21. How about this then? 2ZZ-GE engine finished product installing (ハイコンプエンジン rack equipment) Apparently you take your car to the TRD workshop in Tama (Japan), and for the bargain price of 577,500 Yen they fit the following: 4 x high compression pistons and rings. In the enlargement, the left piston is the Genuine piston, the right is a High compression piston (I think they mean even higher than the standard 12:1 CR). 1 x Lightweight flywheel 1 x sport air filter 1 x exhaust manifold And the net effect of all this TRD goodness? The translation states: "Other than the above-mentioned finished product installing, high response muffler Ver.S for the below-mentioned 2ZZ-GE on-board car simultaneous installing time, the highest output approximately 15kW (20ps), largest torque 20N ・ m (2kg ・ m) improvement. (Measurement value is TRD bench test value. There is a difference in improvement generation depending upon the vehicle.)" The improvement is shown on this chart: But if that's correct, 15kW at the flywheel costs approx. $7,700, so no thanks. Aren't we getting more improvement with a CAI, extractors and Unichip (which costs what, just over $2000)?
  22. Nah, check the sports steering wheels: The best is the Babelfish translation, however: SRS SPORTS AIR BAG STEERING WHEEL スポーティ fusing functional beauty and safety. The genuine steering wheel, to all the car air bags while being converted, スポーティドライビング and, with high safety as pulling out you cannot talk. Although TRD to correspond to the request of these times promptly, being the air bag attachment, developing the advanced steering wheel which does not impair former sport characteristic. With high safety, stylish lux and nimble operativity were actualized. * The electric type air bag of the system which ignites due to the electric information from the air bag sensor. *The collision mock exam by the actual car is begun, repeatedly it executes numerous reliability assessment test, proving high safety. * Genuine center air bag sensor ASSY (the computer) you use that way,the steering wheel just it is round every exchange type. * Main leather volumesteering wheel of comfortablegrip impression. * Fast steering wheel operation was made possible, with small diameter the forum of stylish 3 these spokes.
  23. I noticed after about a week of driving that the strut seated in and I had to re-tighten some of the nuts. It's probably worth checking them periodically and re-tensioning if necessary.
  24. boot lock button? isn't it to lock out the passenger window controls?
  25. The cars are assembled in South Africa, but the engines are built in Japan. As an aside, why are people getting mad? Do you think a few kw's (if there is any PROOF that they are producing less than 141kw, and I haven't seen any) will turn you car into a different beast? I think not.
