  1. Good work Bill, you are like some kind of crazy Sportivo detective! I know from my own G-Tech timed testing that I can (just) exceed -1.0G during braking, as long as I stay out of ABS. With full-ABS braking, G forces are only -0.8 to -0.9, so I suspect they tested the cars at full force, and as we know, the 'Rolla's ABS program is not the best. So the moral of my story is stay out of ABS if you want to brake hard!
  2. It will dry out quicker if you don't use them. I use a cleaner and conditioner that came with my couch - bought it from Freedom.
  3. That site says that Neal Bate's N4 Rally Corolla Sportivo (4wd, 2L turbo) can be bought for $150,000... Wonder if it'd beat a Porsche?
  4. Haven't noticed - I'll check tomorrow. I've now done about 1000km on synthetic, so if it's burning any it should show....
  5. There's a Sportivo Concept car on the promotional flyers for the Adelaide Autosalon. I can't find the image anywhere at the Autosalon website though. Anyone else seen it?
  6. My dealer used Havoline Energy at 1000km. I changed to Castrol R 5W30 Synthetic at 5000km. I've used Mobil1 before (in other cars) - the Castrol is cheaper and runs just as well. I've heard you shouldn't use synthetic before the 2nd or 3rd change...?
  7. Mine's silver and I'm a research scientist. You can all call me Dr. oz_viking :P
  8. It doesn't look that bad, compared to your description of the impact. But $12K damage sounds a lot!
  9. So the Michelin and Dunlops appear to be good for the dollars.
  10. Celica yes, MR2 no.
  11. I'd like there to be a Corolla Union Northern Territory. Heheh. Seriously though, I liked Club Lift.
  12. They can't have "pulled the sales" - there's still an '04 sitting in Northpoint Toyota for sale. They may have not supplied any new ones to dealers however.
  13. Only if the fault relates to the modification, right?
  14. I have some great Alpine 6x9's that I bought new in the US, but I can't decide where best to mount them....
  15. You'd have to upgrade brakes, clutch, gearbox etc for a turbo too...
  16. I see it like this - Bruce was first to offer the lower price, the other guy is just matching. If that is not enough incentive to go with TRDsales, then how about the fact that he is the sole authorised distributor for Australasia, carries a large range, and appears willing to haggle on just about anything? I'm going to deal with him directly in future - I've learnt my lesson.
  17. This is for Dogbert and Doolybird (or anyone else who thinks they can compete for the crown of "oldest sportivo driver". I'll be 33 on October 21, can you beat that?
  18. Check with your insurer first whether they'll accept any modicification.....
  19. Me (and organ!!) are Southerners (or Centralites if you're in Perth).
  20. Welcome to the forum Hodgie. Please use the forum search tool (http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?act=Search&f=4) to look for previous relevant threads. The answer to your question can be found here: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=540
  21. 32. Bit off topic, but I had a go against a 5.0L VN commodore (when will they learn?) and a 1994 Aus-spec Galant VR4 on the weekend. The VR4 didn't launch very well and I managed to be in front of him all the way to 125 km/h, as we passed a cop on the other side of the road! In the wet, as well. Luckily he decided not to chase us. The commodore backed off efore I even changed into 3rd.
  22. There's still a silver one at my dealer. I have a crease in the front passenger seat, but it's no real drama. More a natural blemish in the hide I guess. No other leather probs.
  23. The Euro T-sports do...
  24. Anyone noticed in that vid that the speedo jumps almost instantly from 0 to 40 km/h? It must have got bags of wheelspin, but can't really tell 'cos the stuffed sound. The speedo jumps again around 60 km/h. Crazy!
  25. Huh. When I tried last week it asked me for my media password..... OK, I've worked it out. These are medium res images, to get high res (media only) images, you do need the password.
