  1. check for moisture or condensation around the top of window inside of course(lol),there is the chance yours may not have the problem, nothing to worry about until it leaks, then get toyota to check and or replace, the dealer won't do anything anyway unless he can see the problem.
  2. Yeah, I'm in SA. But I don't really have a preferred mechanic, I don't think my previous local Honda service centre would be too interested in an Aurion :) The car is only 5 months old, so your right, not much should be wrong.. it just comes down to how hard has it been driven (engine, gearbox punishment that may not show immedietely) And I guess you face this same problems buying any used car, how did the previous driver(s) treat it? who knows? .. it the gamble you take. I'm looking at an '07 model at around $25-26k price range, there arent too many to choose from in SA at the moment. But that's ok, if I decide against this one, I'll keep waiting for one to pop-up. the engines these days are rev limited so any damage should'nt apply to that, gearbox etc are built toyota tough anyways-lol there a few atx's up at my local dealer at the moment for about $21000 and a sportivo for $28000 i think, might be worth a look and see. pm me for the address if you would like it cheers corey
  3. yes you definitely should mate-i would say something at the next service anyway
  4. are you in sa,depending which raa service centre you go to. do you have a preferred mechanic you can take it too for inspection,he may pick up more for you. truth be known there would'nt be too many problems at this stage of the cars life anyway. if you are after a good 1 with relatively low km's on there is plenty more available
  5. its good that its been fixed, but with the dealer saying that with the warranty sounds a bit suspicious,if you bought new you would have a 3year warranty on that and anything else that is a design or fitment error,i might be wrong, djkor would be able to tell you more than i would. but thanks for letting us all know cheers
  6. as long as the car has had its full service history and can be checked etc it should be fine,i personally would'nt buy but that is me. i have owned an ex-rental before and that was ok other than a few little things. if you do decide to purchase-check the dealer has all 3 keys and 2 remotes,as a lot of ex-rentals only come with 1 remote and 1 key meaning you will have to get another set, which if you read the forum could cost you quite a few $$$$ cheers corey
  7. welcome mate, plenty of information on here to peruse at your own leisure cheers corey
  8. another thing i do to avoid clunking into reverse is to put car into neutral, foot on the brake, apply handbrake, release foot brake, let car roll to stop, then select park, try this and see how you go,the old falcon's and magna's always do this as they get older(clunking) and i found by doing this the clunking is a lot smoother or non existent another thing i do as well is first thing in morning let engine run till revs drop below 1500,then quickly select neutral with foot on brake of course, handbrake activated too, then select reverse, let us know how you go. this is just what i do and as said have done for many years, the missus's old magna was synonymous for this and it seem to help a lot cheers
  9. i'm with the others tofubois mags look good,it all comes down to personal taste,i definitely would put them on my AURION ,i dont have bmw-lol looks good matee cheers sorry for hijacking too
  10. any reputable mechanic can do it,just tell them not to do any extra work until they have contacted you, just get a normal service with plugs etc, transfer case and gearbox plus diffs probably need to be done too
  11. in short-none matee as it was sold 2nd hand to you,the dealer more than likely was only given the 1 key,the previous owner more than likely has them,if you have his name you could try to track him down or ask the dealer for more details
  12. does this mean they have been sent or are still awaiting despatch-i'm confused-lol
  13. Of course it is going to be more expensive, it's an import - take a look at any car made overseas and it will be more expensive here than in its home country, especially one that has to undergo a conversion (ie it's not made RHD from factory) If that was what you originally intended to say, then obviously I mis-understood you - I wasn't putting words in your mouth. Maybe next time you need to make your point a little clearer. And I laughed at your comment about my posts regarding spelling/grammar - I always try to use correct spelling, grammar etc, as well as punctuation, paragraphs and even capital letters at the beginning of sentences. As for someone else who takes post legibility seriously, take a look at BKS (Blink Kid Seeks, one of the moderators here), he's one person who hates "r fully sik h3ctic m4te rlly" talk. There are more, too. I think the moderators can speak for themselves and so can anyone else. One shortcut is not the same in my eyes as "r fully sik h3ctic m4te rlly" talk . I still think you are getting a bit too worked up over this. There are a lot more people on this site who have written like this and you have'nt said anything to them so why have a go at me for using 1 shortcut. That is good that you had a laugh,as i am currently having one now.
  14. The fact that the Commodore shares a platform (as in things are roughly the same, it's not like it is the exact same car underneath) with the Camaro I believe does not belittle either car, because the platform itself is a good one. It's what Holden/GM add on top of that platform which makes the Commodore crap and the Camaro good. More use of the rest of the keys on your keyboard would be appreciated too. Are is spelt "are" not "r". no offence but i never said the commodore or camaro was crap-just saying they share the same platform as you call it. i in fact love the camaro, always have done and always will,in relation to spelling is it really that big a deal mate? You said "considering they are a Commodore chassor or floorpan or whatever, they are a bit pricey for what they are" In short, you said that the Camaro is expensive considering it is basically a tarted-up 2-door Commodore, thus denigrating it (whereas it could be seen the other way - the Commodore is a really cheap way to get the same chassis platform as the Camaro, thus complimenting it) And spelling/grammar etc isn't that great of a deal if you at least try to put some effort in to it, but I (and others) are sick to death of people talking in "l33t-spe4k" or SMS-style when they have a full keyboard in front of them and no limit on length or time. Plus, it's easier to read that way. the camaro here is expensive compared to what they are in the states meaning price wise.the in short remarks is your opinion or your impression of what is written, you are putting words into my mouth the way you said it and i didnt say anything along those lines. Also you say about spelling/grammar-look at your own posts regarding this. Just out of curiosity-who else is (and others) Cheers
  15. Are the West Australians still able to register modern cars as left hook? Thus not requiring the conversion. i believe its the same as sa and they have to be pre 1970,you would have to check with the registration department in wa cheers
  16. thay are being imported by performance international in qld as left hand drives and being converted there. there is a article in wheels august issue for anyone wanting to know more.

  21. Yeah i saw Camry listed also...but i bought an Aurion and there different,i hate it when my car gets called a Camry (no offence to Camry owners) but it aint a Camry...i can't find a Camry badge or decal for love nor money anywhere on it so it's not a Camry. :P p.s just having a bit of fun all Camry owners... :D yeah but they r in america called camrys-i dont mind, sticks and stones imo seriously though- i really like yr mags-hehe
