  1. welcome to the forum mate, yeah i'm in melbourne though :( that is the cheapest than from all the toyotas in melbourne i've asked... i'm still juggling whether i should get them or the illuminating sills :P
  2. cheers guys, PMs recieved :D
  3. Hi pirate can u tell me how much u got it for? I was quoted 160 for the trd ones
  4. wow not one dealer in the country has it? yeah overseas in japan would be the way to go then. other than that i wouldn't know. Good luck with it anyways put it in the want to buy section and hopefully something comes up :)
  5. local wreckers doesnt have and you know Toyota will kill me with that parts but I believe I will get something between the people on here Thanks to be quite honest, i don't think your gonna have much luck with those safety parts here on the forums. I would recommend you get the dealer ones as they carry a warantee on them (12 months i think). I personally wouldn't want a second hand airbag and/or seatbelt as it's a very important safety feature for a car. also what happened to the one that was already on the sportivo?
  6. hey mate. I dun think it doesn't becuz when I bought my car. It came with it. The original was gIven to me but it didn't have any bolts with it.
  7. far out, i missed it when i was working, looking on youtube now :D here it is!: <--- such a fast MOFO <--- i thought it was 650 bhp?, stuffed the gearbox lol
  8. Yeah u should dc the battery just make it loose and take off n put on as u like. I was lazy too lol didn't take out the battery AT ALL. :P lucky for me it was just the passenger seltbelt warning light blew. U didn't plug in the console when the key was in the "on" position right?
  9. nice, its probably the blue leds are stronger than the greens. (even the blue leds i got now don't show under strong sunlight). Did you disconnect the battery when u worked? also i dont think the centre console got anything to do with the headlights... and how come u installed your HIDs again? what did u take them off for?
  10. yes they always light up, even when the head lights are turned off, you would know by now right? couldn't you wait until night time to find that out? lol btw when u said "a/c display" u men the climate control right?
  11. DB1431. They are all the same for both pre-facelifts and facelifts
  12. The larger filter just provides more surface area for the fitler to entrap contaminents; has no affect on compression ratio, that is a fixed value based on combustion chamber design, stroke and piston crown shape. Use the larger filter if you can. thats so strange, toyota should have made just the longer filter for both engines... or were they thinking that the 2zz produces more power so a larger filter was required?
  13. You seemed to be stating that the fact that your belt was made in Japan maked it better than the Chinese or Taiwanese-made belts yeah i did, i would be more inclined to trust japan made products, but it was from a brand i didnt hear about before so MAYBE it would be better if it was... forgive my ignorance. But since cha5a said brand doesn't mean anything, i'll just give it a go. in the end its a drive belt... if i was going for more parts like alternators, brake fluids, coolants etc. i would stick to the OEMs.
  14. never experienced castrol GTX, i remembered i used the 20W50 in my old 1979 car. i know they make a 10W30 for modern cars as well but not really sure how it runs in our 2ZZ engines. I know one of the dealers use castrol GTX 10W30 here and the guy that i know got it from here still runs on it after 5 or 6 yrs without any problems. edit: sorry going off topic here lol BTW and1: did you get any difference in running with the short filter for the 2zz? normally we run the longer filter made for it. some people believe that there is better compression with the shorter filter?
  15. I don't think the OEM option should be your 'worse comes to worse' option. Should be one of your better options. By using an aftermarket drive belt are you expecting a performance increase or something? Don't most drive belt changes occur during a major service (100k km)? i was meaning that "worse comes to worse" when it doesn't fit or something, not saying that the OEM is worse out of the lot lol no not expecting an increase in performance yeah it does need to be changed at 100,000km, but unfortunately for my case its cracked and needs replacing sooner than usual :(
  16. what it "looked" like? did u sell yours kolourhero? :P
  17. every oil change if done properly, doesn't matter what brand oil or filter (provided u use the manufacturers recommendation), makes the engine run smoother. Brand choice is users preference. In saying that i will use penrite 10W40 plus 10 semi-syn on next oil change. Currently use 10W40 Mobil semi-syn
  18. my bad, wasn't looking at the country your from lol. i dunno i'll search the forums to see if there are any recent prices on these, but i think 180 is ok IF they are c-ones.
  19. nice dude, I was thinking of getting some too... how much did u get them? cuz i got quoted for 180 for a pair at cyber century in Footscray and i'm not really sure if they are C-ones or not! i don't think the brand really matters?, as long as it fits well right? how much u getting it painted for?
  20. i didn't assume all quality parts come from japan, i just surprised to find a different brand other than the one i was expecting, hence asking if any of u guys experienced this brand before. if worse comes to worse i'll just buy the OEM part from toyota
  21. how come you looking for so many parts? have u tried the local wreckers? if not then the toyota dealer would definitely have it... be prepared to fork out heaps of dosh though :P
