  1. I dun think so... Anyways if u could fit the 2zz engine into the e11 chassis U would have alot of head****s. I wouldn't convert it IMO. Just do external mods and some upgrades for the engine Depending how far n how much u wanna spend ;)
  2. welcome mate, why didn't u just buy a rolla sportivo and take it from there? no conversions needed just a great engine :P then all u need to do is slowly put on mods to suit ur budget B)
  3. update: i was looking at the bosch website catalogue expecting the most updated version but they only had the 08/09 catalogue. The new 10/11 catalogue doesn't list neither sportivo/celica 2ZZ engine drive belts. Means bosch don't make it anymore :(
  4. 90915-YZZE2 for the sportivo, 25 bucks from a melbourne dealership (varies from dealer to dealer) There WAS a page on ebay selling for the 2ZZ engine, probably get listed again soon. From memory that was 35 bucks? how far from your oil change r u?
  5. oic... lucky this ones made in japan, its printed on the belt! =)
  6. i'm not really concerned about the size. Just worried about a brand i havent heard about before. haha SFA nice way to put it =)
  7. cuz i've heard people say that travelling too high a gear in low speed will damage the gearbox, i wanted to ask for people's opinions here maybe each car is made differently to another? also my previous car had only 4 gears, so i drove it much differently than this one. just trying to learn whats best to make the mechanicals last longer
  8. Oh btw I've done 877777 kms :P
  9. mate here is audible squeeling on acceleration when ac is on. Mechanic also said on last service that the belt is cracked but should make it until next service
  10. yeah ur right. Also ur probably not the only person that thinks I post silly topics online. But I ask these silly questions becuz I really don't know or need information on some things. Just like everyone on these forums, they want the best for thier car. And this is wat it's about right? Helping each other? Also I am one of few that probably spend thier time Reading thru the topics seeing if the topic is covered or not. (Yes all 2xx pages.) I am sorry if I ask questions that r covered already but either I found the replies too vague or inadequate for me to understand. Yes I am a noob and I don't deny it I don't blame u and1... Just let me get out of the "noob phase "(and hopefully it will be soon) Everyone to thier own I guess... :)
  11. Hey guys. Went to super cheap auto n asked for a drive belt for my TiVo when I gave hem the part no. Which was a bocsh one (no. 6pk1930) when i got the product it was some other brand named austral! The only maybe good thing was that this belt is made in japan... I would have surely returned it if it was made in china/taiwan etc.! Now I'm worried whehter it will fit my stivo or not :/ seriously... Sigh the guys at super cheap said not to worry as it will still fit... Bosch is ok but this? I never heard of it before! Will look into this further did this company buy a part of Bosch or something? edit: some spelling mistakes (stupid iphone buttons too small)
  12. hey SD is that becuz ur pressing more on the pedal to travel at the cruising speed on 6th compared to 5th?
  13. hey guys, this question has probably been talked about before but i dont think it has for the corolla sportivo in particular... in normal driving i shift at around 3.5k when cold and 4k when warm. in thr manual, the recommended shifting speeds are as follows: 1st to 2nd - 30kph 2nd to 3rd - 40kph 3rd to 4th - 65 kph 4th to 5th - 72kph 5th to 6th - 80kph knowing this, is it ok for the gear box and/or engine to be cruising on 6th at lets say... 50kph or 60kph? Fuel efficient yes, but in the long term, going too high a gear at low speed would damage the gear box... atm, i cruise in 4th from 50kph on a straight road and 3rd on an incline... anything below 40kph i do 2nd and 1st bloew 20kph... also i don't really use 6th until i hit around at least 80 to 90kph whats your opinion guys? cheers :)
  14. Do you mean wax every 3 months? I wouldn't make polishing a regular item, as it's essentially a destructive process, like a very fine sandpaper. The more you do it, the more you strip you clear coat and eventually you won't have any left. Polishing should be done on an as-needed basis; regular washing and keeping a layer of wax on there will go a long way to helping keep that clear coat in tip-top condition. If you use cut and polish, yes it will take off the top coat layer. Wax will not do this, no matter how often you do it...
  15. HMMM great way to introduce yourself with a first post I know for a fact that the paint is of high quality but you are right in one regard The paint layer is thin! I have seen the new hilux with HORRENDOUS coverage in black and was sent to a Spraypainter to be fixed (read:Full body respray!) I also think people are being a bit special when it comes to wear and tear on their paint TBH and now that Toyota is having some issues all the naysayers are coming out ready to complain about this and that as well You have a car it is built to a price, your price is a corolla not a Mercedes or LEXUS quality So learn to properly detail your car if it is such a problem 1000's of corolla owners on the road happy regardless well said mate. Like I said before... Wax it when u first get the car. A little buffing goes a long way! :)
  16. umm... yeah never really considered 5W30... I always went with what they put in at the beginning... i'll think about it on the next oil change:)
  17. holycrap!!! i reckon i need 5 beers after that! i wax my car only once and it takes AGES! :D
  18. and a shiny, freshly waxed one at that! :D:D:D:D:D
  19. Hey guys, i'm thinking of taking my tivo to the race tracks. I was looking at the winton one in benalla but there isn't alot of information on the prices and what is required when you go there... also any information on how they run the practice race days would be good too! do they let you hire helmets? experiences on the track? also can u bring a video camera to wedge it in the passengers head rest to film urself driving? :D cheers guys
  20. yeah i'll try to relax a bit more ;) the only thing really worrying me here is the diesel sound from the engine when idle, hopefully changing the oil from 10W40 to penrite 10W50 will eliminate that... gotta wait til another 7000kms though >_>
  21. far out man! i just wanted to get one thing changed, then u are telling me to change alot more other things? LOL i'm gonna go broke bro........................... >_>
  22. I have a black (ink) colour as well. When I first got it, some parts of the paint had bird dropping etchings on the paint. Nothing I could do to remove it. Sometime later on I will need to re spray it. Unfortunately for us black car owners, scratches r a must if ita a daily driver. I've got swirls all over my car but they can be easily covered by a good polish then wax. I just wax mine once every 6 months now. I gave up on trying to keep it perfect haha... If u bought it since new I would recommend u wax it striaght away. I dunno how good the paint protection is cuZ I never got it but I always thought a bit of elbow grease is better
  23. Not sure if it's weeping just heard my uncle say on the last service. I think he just saw a bit of flaking of the red toyota coolant and he assumed that. We also saw come flaking on the top radiator hose. Not sure if it's normal. Then there was almost overheating 2 weeks ago when driving my wife to work. But I dismissed it bcuZ I disconnected the centre console. Few pplZ say ita not though. Confused...
  24. sorry when I meant "change" u meant to retighten it or something? Just becuZ it's a timing chain, unfortunately doesn't mean it's maintenence free... I reckon it's good to check it out just in case it needs some btw cme-lft, what brands did u use? Did u do anything for the chain as well? I think I'm getting a Bosch drive belt for my TiVo
