  2. one level up in brake pads... 650 degrees eh? better than the HPX 550 degrees i cooked on and have on atm. getting these installed with machining the rotors tomorrow. new fluid and braided lines for the cherry on top :)

  8. should have measured the old ones before i threw them out <_< now i'm going to have to measure these ones on the car on friday night/saturday morning or unless someone has a spare they can measure. prozak that website doesnt list the rear for the sportivo, i swear it.

  13. could someone be kind enough to tell me whether the sportivo rear brakes (or whatever the hell the south africans used) diameter is? im getting confused with all these ebay listing saying that its for the ZZE123 when there are 2 different sizes of the rotor. apparently the SA built corollas have 275mm front and 258mm rear rotors apparently the JP built corollas have 275mm front and 269mm rear rotors and apparently there was a 255mm FRONT rotor on an earlier model. which doesn't bloody make any sense it being a smaller rotor than the rear when the front does at least 60% of the braking? being all that, yet i currently have TRD black pads in the rear for the corolla and on the box it says for the ZZT231 and the ZZE123? so the pad is interchangable between the 258mm and 269mm rear rotors? huh? wtf? am i missing something here? jesus f#cking Christ someone tell me before i rage quit at toyota. why dont you just make the same size rotor for ALL the bloody corollas across the same range? rant end.
  14. yeah i'd say it was a combination of things. but these were the main things: 1) brakes were fading only into the 2nd session. had tracked hard twice in them. as soon as they faded i lost 50% confidence lol 2) gearbox wasn't particularly liking downshifting to 2nd at around 70km/hr. needed it for the tight bends. 3) haven't been on winton for 13 months. last time was nov 2011. so a bit rusty. all oils and fluids were good. with the exception of brake fluid but that would be from the pads wearing down themselves. all this i thought i would only need the new suspension setup but it seems that unforeseeable circumstance happened on the day. so i just quit before something bad happened. clifton: a suspension shop did it for me :) i eat v8s and now i eat corners + v8s LOL :D i am eyeing winton again in june 2013 for exe. hopefully i get in this time ;)
  15. Yeah thats the thing.ur running pfc.im running stock ecu. But try changing the tb. That may work. For now blip the throttle and it will go down to 750 800 lol
  16. Well, the kermit's return to the track and man what a disappointment that was... only managed a 1.53.19 on the 9th lap of the day. Brakes and gearbox didn't like me at all so i tried to change my driving style but had to pull out early and rage quit for the day. It wasn't my time and the weather was so fine... :( i couldn't use the new suspension setup to its full potential. but anyways some pictures thanks to phillip who accompanied me on the day ;) return in may for exe? ummm hehe...

  18. shouldnt be, i've tracked my car in 35 degree weather and it was holding around 98 degrees.
