  1. your sedan should have discs? i wasnt aware of any zze122 variant with drum brakes........ the handbrake is a drum style in the inside of the disc, sportivos do have disc brakes
  2. sent you a pm kenshin, not sure if u got it or not. i ported my intake manifold, mostly around the throttle body area it was messy so i cleaned it up and where the manifold joins in the middle the holes dont line up properly so i took them out a little bit and lined them up. BUMP!
  3. My swap fell through unfortunetely, im looking for a set of sportivo stockies to put on instead for a while until i get some other rims, will sell my current rims as i dont really like them all that much, they look good! i just had them on prvious cars and im sick of looking at them haha
  4. be carefull how much power you put through the stock hiace manual gearbox! im a gearbox mechanic and we see these gearboxes every second day , the third and fourth gear hub is a stupid design and only has a couple of splines on it and can strip at the drop of a hat and then you lose 3+4, the 5th gear itself is also prone to the same problem, there is an upgrade available for the 5th gear but not the 3+4 hub yet as far as im aware, the late model hilux gearboxes are exactly the same, i am waiting for a trd hilux one to come through so i can see if it has a better hub in it as they make a lot more power.
  5. the front mount bracket on the zze123 and 122 has a slotted section where your main mount bolt goes through the bracket so you can align it to a bit more push or pull load on the engine.
  6. yeh we know rear mount was easy actually, pulled it out from the top. were talking about the front, x2 14mm bolts that go from under the cross member, and the ( from memory ) 17mm bolt n nut that goes through the mount to the bracket, and the 14mm bolts that go from the bracked to the gearbox.. also, why would it matter which way it goes? it seems to be the same both ways... yea it has to go the correct direction, if you look at the rubber piece in the middle where it joins the outside it isnt vertical or horizontal its in between so it points a different direction depending on which way you have the mount, so when the front mount is installed you want the rubber at the top of the mount to be pointing towards the engine and at the bottom it should be pointing away from the engine if u get what im saying, otherwise under the force of engine movement it will rip the mount instead of dampening when your driving,
  7. also make sure its getting fitted the correct direction... it will split pretty quickly if its in back to front, i think from memory there is a little metal piece on top and it should be facing towards the radiator not the gearbox
  8. i had the same issue with the alternator pulley, get yourself an american alternator, 1zz or 2zz it doesnt matter, the shaft up the centre is too small aswell as the outer is too big and fouls on the alternator casing, you can buy a perfect sleeve to sort the internal out, i have a couple of those here, and machine down the outside...... but its better to find the correct alternator as the pulley is balanced already and machining it could upset it
  9. im looking at swapping a set of other wheels i have for them,
  10. as soon as i wash the car ill take some pics this week and make a thread on it, its covered in mud at present haha
  11. does anyone have a picture of bronze volk Te37's on a white zze? looking at putting a set of 16 inch onto my wagon, just wanted to see what they look like on one, thanks dan
  12. ok so has anyone tried e85 in a sportivo corolla? i have done a lot of research into it and it appears to be pretty unreliable with its octane rating due to being mixed with different batches of fuel.but in saying that it ranges between 96 and 106 octane depending on the actual blend. The other concern i had was according to a few sources it is not so nice on plastics and rubber like normal petrol, and our whole filter and pump assembly is rubber and plastic! Im running a japanese 2zz and ecu out of a fielder and it seems to ping on even ultimate,
  13. where are you located? i have a catback stock exhaust in brisbane
  14. ok i have my 1zz cable ghetto rigged for now:) but if anyone has a 2zz one give me a message.thanks!
  15. toyota do sell them but its a 6 week wait from japan, my car is off the road until i find one to borrow or buy :( completed the 2zz engine conversion yesterday and cable tied my stock cable up but its not suitable to drive on im also chasing the oil pressure sensor off the lift mechanism if anyone has one spare
  16. Im chasing a zze123 sportivo corolla accelerator cable, if anyone has one they want to sell or if someone has one i can borrow for a day as a sample so i can get one made up that would be great, im located in brisbane but will pay freight if i buy one from interstate. thanks dan
  17. bump zze122 front rotors and calipers added $150 (recently machined rotors and installed the new series ct bendix brake pads)
  18. i beleive the best way around this is to buy your self a capacitor, they will give you better sound and stop your peak draining on your battery as it will keep drawing a constant current from your battery and fill itself up,whereas currently your draining power from other curcuits when it doesent have enough power to power the sub at peak performance(thats how i understand it works anyway)
  19. is that a orange sportivo!? :o a green one is coming to the streets of melbourne soon and to answer your question. i bought mine wih king springs super lowers. scraped everywhere but that will leave some mistakes until i decide to repaint it ;) they are 12mm off the ground BTW. i find this height most comfortable as i can clear my driveway well nice i would like to see a sportivo 12mm off the ground hahahahahahaha you must have a super flat driveway :P
  20. well im noow thinking that even though the seller has said it takes the speedo gear it will not, im waiting on pictures from him of the end where the speedo gear attatches to confirm whether it actually does or not
  21. where are you located b man? if your in brisbane i can install a new clutch for you at work
